WHY WORK WITH A PSO?
You are watching out for your patients, let us watch out for you. Boards of Pharmacy in 14 states, accreditation and credentialing programs, and network contracts require pharmacies to have a quality improvement program. Unfortunately, state peer review protection is often weak or non-existent, potentially putting your pharmacy at legal risk. The Alliance for Patient Medication Safety (APMS) is a federally listed Patient Safety Organization (PSO), which allows our pharmacy members to participate in a continuous quality improvement program in a legally safe environment. Participating pharmacy members can track and study patient safety data without fear of exposure.
