The newly built Ministry is in thegovernment quarter near of thechancellery and Central Station.With the new location areaggregated of costs as safetyreasons all existing Berlin sites ofBMI. The energetic quality of thebuilding is detected in a totalenergy concept. Since spring 2015,the modern building is place ofwork for up to 1,400 employees ofthe Federal Ministry of the Interior.

The heating supply of the new building isunder use of geothermal energy, exhaustheat utilization and district heating. Foroptimal, energy efficient heat distribution allover the office ceiling heaters provide withBEKA capillary tube mats, which act in thesummer as a cooling ceiling.
The heating and cooling ceiling of thePorsche showroom was planned as anopen construction. In order to avoidirritation by the standard blue of the mats,BEKA produced uncolored capillary tubemats for this project. The comfort ceilingworks exclusively by geothermal energy.

This high-end residential area in the mainbusiness center of Beijing consists ofseveral residential towers and spaciousparks.The investors demanded living comfort andgreen technology. Consequently, BEKAcapillary tube mats provide ecologicalheating and cooling and pleasanttemperatures in all apartments.
The cylindrical form of this project in Spainreduces the cladding surface by 35%,which, together with the BEKA capillarytube mats, optimizes energy efficiency.
From the beginning, BEKA capillary tubetechnology was an integral part of theplanning for the Business Center Plus inBratislava, in order to reach LEED buildingstandard Gold for this project.

At the BEKA production,the metal cassettes werefitted in hot-melt procedurewith capillary tube mats.In order to ensure highefficiency, a 20 mminsulation was applied tothe back of the capillarytube mats.
Castle Solms, a listed Renaissancebuilding, was retrofitted in 2012.Surface heating and cooling withcapillary tube mats was installedbecause the thin capillary tubes ofthe BEKA mats enablecomparatively low constructionheights. Thereby, the interiordesign with window arches couldbe kept in fabric and character.Today, the revitalised castle offersspace amongst others for adoctor's practice and cultural use .
The building was erectedaccording to plans ofFriedrich Schulze between1892 and 1899 asPreussischer Landtag(Prussian State Assembly).The neo-Renaissance stylebuilding is situated in thecity centre near PotsdamerPlatz. In 1993 it becameseat of the State Parliamentof Berlin.

In order to avoid disturbance of theparliamentary work of the State Parliamentof Berlin, the installation had to be doneduring summer recess. In only six weeks,energy saving radiant cooling with BEKAcapillary tube mats where installed in allthe top floor offices.

Capillary tube mats produce a healthy andagreeable room temperature in thepatients’ rooms. In addition, they saveabout 30% energy consumption incomparison to cooling by conventional air-conditioning.
This building is the first positive energy tertiarybuilding in France to be certified HQE andBREEAM ‚Excellent‘. Per year, 64 kW/m² ofenergy is produced, whereas only 61 kW/m² ofenergy is consumed.
During the Winter Olympic andParalympic Games 2010, thebuildings are used by about 2,800athletes and officials. Afterwards,the majority of the upmarketapartments are sold, another partis rented as affordable housing.The so called Millennium WaterProject is North America’s first trulysustainable neighbourhood andwill certify to LEED Gold standard.
BEKA mats in large-scale projects
This large and high prestige object had to berealised in comparatively short time. A precisepreparation as well as room specific productionand packaging by the manufacturer BEKA madea quick and smooth installation possible.

Large windows and hot climate make highdemands on climatisation. Thus, a coolingceiling with BEKA capillary tube mats wasinstalled in this modern villa.Even with outside temperatures of 40°C,the house remains pleasantly cool -without draught. Uniform temperaturesand low energy costs please the houseowner .
As part of the TRIUM nearthe Tiergarten, the KoreanEmbassy shows traditionalKorean architectural style ina modern interpretation.
The architecture firm Braun undSchlockermann designed this five-storeyrepresentative building.A combined cooling and heating systemwith BEKA capillary tube mats providespleasant temperatures around the year.
During the planning phase of the luxuriousApartment buildings the focus were notonly on comfortable living, but also onefficient room temperature in summer andwinter.
With a public and privatepartnership this centrally locatedcomplex was built for two stateministries. Due to state-of-the-artbuilding technology with capillarytube cooling ceilings, solar powersystem and ventilation system, thebuilding achieves a low primaryenergy requirement of only50 kWh/m² per year. The supply andreturn temperatures of the capillarytube mats are 31 ° / 28 ° C forheating and 18 ° / 21 ° Cfor cooling.

The Installation of the capillary tube matswas carried out as a standard ceilinginstallation which creates open space thatallows a free room design.
The ThyssenKrupp Quartier sets standards inminimizing energy consumption and is certified bythe DGNB with the gold standard award. In thesecond construction phase (Q6, Q8 and Q10)workstations was created for around 1,000employees.
