Some of the published works of Tapan Bandyopadhyay Fictions Malabkoushik ( A name of a classical rag-song ) --The fiction is based on the life and achievement of Bajju, later famous as Bakshu who had rejuvinated Drupad song in the first quarter of sixteenth century at the behest of Raja Mansingha Tomar, king of Gwalior and a great admirer of Dhrupad songs, and his ninth queen Mriganayani who was not only brave and beautiful, but also fond of classical songs. The novel, the first of its kind, is musical in nature, and a blend of classical music and contemporary historical events of Sultan and Mughal dynasty. Published from Deys' Publishing. Nodi Maati Aranya ( River, Soil and the Forest ) -- A trilogy based on one hundred years of the growing up of the localities of Sundarban areas. About 900 pages. Published from Karuna Prakashani. Lal phite ( Red tape)-- The protagonist is a youngman who is appointed as a civil servant and posted in a district collectorate. The story narrates the experience of the day to day government machinaries in a satirical manner. Published from Mitra & Ghosh Publishers. Bhalobasa, ami esechhilam ( Oh Love, I came )--This fiction narrates the experience of a young patient who is suffering from a peculiar disease like losing the anphabates from his heart and forgetting to write poems. A young lady doctor discovers that he is not a patient of brain tumor although he was being treated like that by the senior speacialists. Her love for the youngman ultimately shows him the way to recovery although the did not mature. Published from Patrabharati. Khanda Bikhanda ( In pieces ) --This book deals with contemporary politics and focusses on the movement of a section of the Rajbanshis, in North Bengal, for their language and culture, the roles of the KPP & KLO organisations and that of the state in trying to resolve the issue. Shankhachiler Dana, Danar Dupashe Prithibi, SHankhasamudra ( The wings of Shankhachil, The world on both sides of the wings, The sea of Shankha )- -this is a trilogy which is autobiographical in nature, deals with the growing up of a juvenile boy and his departing the colourful village life to go for taking up college studies in Kokata and experiencing the bitter aspects of city-life. But teenage love gave him the courage of struggling the life. Published from Deys' Publishing. Mahulbonir Sereng ( The song of Mahulboni ) --This novel deals with the life-style and social customs of the tribal soceity of a western district of West Bengal. The story narrates a relation of a rural health doctor with a santhal married woman who was without a child but later on became pregnant. There was a hue and cry over this incident and the tribal herbal physician (quack ) points his finger to the doctor. The village committee gave verdict for their death sentence.

Fictions Malabkoushik ( A name of a classical rag-song ) --The fiction is based on the

Ghatak ( The murderer) --The novel narrates the psychological analysis of a

juvenile who accidentaly went into a relation with his bossom friend's mother who

got pregnany and commited suicide. The boy in course of time became insane and

actually murdered another insane.

Tilottamar premik ( The lover of Tillottama )-- This novel is a portrate of a

young beautiful lady who first got a service and then got married with a handsome

young man. Because of her paragon beauty and loving quality so many young men

wants to be her lovers and the lady finds life from mulyiferous angel.

Rupkatha Bhenge Jaay ( The Fairytale breaks )--This is an allegorical story of

a platonik love between a married youngman and a teenage girl.

Rupkatha Phire Aase (The Fairytale comes back )--This is another allegorical

story which narrates the life of a young nature-loving woman who was born and

brought up in a city, but after marriage comes to live in her husband's village. Her

deep passion for nature reminded the villagers of their queen who established this

village entirely with greenary, but her family dejected her passion which led to

tragic end.

Buroshibtalar Kalhakata ( The Folktale of Buroshibtala )---This novel deals

with an incident when some female health-officials coming in a car were molested

by the assembled crowd and led to the murder of one of them. The villagers who

are generally innocent were booked by the police as criminals and the root cause

was detected.

Preme megher rong ( The colour of cloud in love)--The story narrates an

incident of naxalite movement during the late sixties. A youngman of Kolkata was

posted as a school-teacher in a remote village liked to set up a farm-house to get

rid of his boredom but was entangled with the movement against his will.The

movement was later on frustrated giving relief to him.

Irshar Sobuj Chokh ( The Greeen Eyes of Jelousy )--The writer has created a

unique character pf a lady detective Gargi who has a keen passion to solve murder

mysteries. This crime fiction deals with the rivalry of two corporate bodies and led

to several comhlications among the their officials and also their familie-members

and the wife of the Chairman of one of the companies. Gargi solves the mystery

using her superb inteligence.
