Coca-Cola producer uses only Sidel equipment Coca-Cola sales in India have risen so fast that it now commands the largest market share on the immense subcontinent. HCCBPL has 24 plants in India, including the third largest CSD producer at Bidadi. Since the plant was opened, the company has installed only Sidel equipment. Occupying an area of around 16 acres, near Bangalore in the plains of the southern State of Karnataka, the plant has lines producing Coca-Cola, Thums up, Fanta, Limca, Sprite and Kinley Soda in both glass and PET bottles.

Another line to meet continuing growth in India The HCCBPL vision is to provide consumers in India with quality beverages at affordable prices. As a result, the company’s carbonated beverages in PET are growing by around 25-30% annually. Non-carbonated drinks are also doing exceptionally well. Sidel’s relationship with the Coca-Cola drinks producer goes back to 1995, when the company sold its first SBO to HCCBPL. The most recent order was placed to create the higher productivity needed for continued market growth.

Designed, delivered, installed and commissioned in only weeksHCCBPL's reasons for insisting on choosing Sidel yet again, included the company's track record, high-standards, service, fast delivery, competitive prices - and history within the Coca-Cola group.After winning the HCCBPL Bidadi contract, Sidel moved very quickly. The complete line was delivered within only eleven weeks and installed within another seven. Just over five weeks later, production was successfully and fully under way. In addition to delivering and commissioning the line, Sidel designed the bottle and line layout and organised training (classroom sessions and on-site machine training) for HCCBPL's operators.

Sidel delivers again as expected - in performance and serviceFive to six people are operating the line and the plant now produces an average of 720,000 x 600 ml bottles per day. Fully respecting HCCBPL’s sustainability criteria, the new line is performing fully as expected: bringing savings in the consumption of energy and water and producing light-weighted bottles. Moreover, Sidel's line flexibility is again proving a considerable asset, as HCCBPL is currently bottling products in three different formats: 600ml ('on-the-go' size) at an output of 36,000 bottles per hour, 1250ml at 22,000 bph, and the larger 2000ml at 18,000 bph. Sidel and HCCBPL continue to have an excellent relationship at local level in Bidadi, as a result of the supplier's good service and support. Given the positive market background in India and a shared interest in innovative sustainable technology, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages and Sidel are both looking forward to continuing their ongoing successful collaboration.
