Who we are SOLIS was founded by Dr. W. Schaufelberger in 1908. He invented the famous SOLIS heating pad and brought it onto the market at the beginning of the twentieth century. A ground breaking range of professional hairdryers followed in 1933 with hairdryer production in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1983 the entrepreneur Willi A. Nauer took over SOLIS AG and now his son Thomas Nauer manages the business with 3 strategic business divisions: Hospitality, Professional and Retail. Nowadays production is located in Ticino, Switzerland and SOLIS appliances are available in more than 40 countries around the globe.

Safety always comes first All SOLIS hairdryers are built according to highest safety standards and are approved by various regulating bodies. Right from the start of the development of any new SOLIS product, safety is the top priority.

Overheating protection All SOLIS hairdryers are fitted with a protection against overheating. Safety thermostats cut off to prevent overheating and automatically turn on again when the temperature has dropped below a certain threshold. This mini-mises the risk of a fire caused by overheating.

Minimalisation of risk of injury SOLIS hairdryers are made out of light yet extremely strong materials. Thereby, performing well and safely also when heavily used.

protection class II for improved safety All SOLIS hairdryers are built according to protection class II. Devices with protection class II have reinforced or double insulation between the main circuits and the output voltage or metal housing.

Keep away from water Even though SOLIS hairdryers are built for the utmost safety, never place hairdryers too close to a water source. SOLIS therefore recommends that a ll hairdryers are placed a minimum of 60 cm away from any water source at all times.
