June 2017 Dear Parent/Carer Music Lessons 2017/18 School Year Light Hall School in conjunction with Solihull Music Service offers students the opportunity to have music lessons during the school day. The options for instrumental lessons are: Woodwind (Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon) Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello) Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Baritone, Tuba) Drum Kit Piano/Keyboard Guitar (Electric, Acoustic, Bass) Vocals The lessons cost £80.50 per term for Group Lessons and £111 per term for Individual Lessons. The lessons are 20 minutes long and your child will receive 33 lessons over the academic year, on average 11 per term. Since last year we have had to make a cost increase of just 50p per week for group lessons and £1 per week for individual lessons. This is to cover an increase in costs. Please note that although we will try our best to allocate group / individual lessons as requested, this is not guaranteed. If the preferred option is not available, the other option will be offered at the prices stated above. Please be aware that by signing this form, you are committing to 3 terms of peripatetic instrumental lessons and, therefore, there would be 3 payments per academic year. Payment in full for each term is required within the first week of term. If, at any point, your child wishes to discontinue from their instrumental lessons, Light Hall School would require a complete half- term’s notice (which needs to be provided in writing to Miss Davis, Head of Music). It is the responsibility of each student to check the lesson timetable on the board in the music department – lessons missed due to students not being present will not be caught up. Lessons missed due to teacher absence will be caught up before the end of the academic year. Parents can pay online by logging into ParentPay (www.parentpay.com ) using the same username and password details as you would for our cashless catering system.
