• Solids have their own shape.

• Solids take up space and have a certain size.

• They don’t change their shape, when we move them from place to place.

The blocks are solids.

• Liquids adopt the shape of their container.

• Liquids take up space and have a certain size.

You can see the red

liquid in four different

containers.

• Gases adopt the shape of their containers. They don’t have a shape of their own.

• Gases can change their size and shape depending on the container.
