Solar System

Page 2: Solar system

Formation of the Solar System

1. An explotion of star (supernova) created a nebula.

2. The material caused by this explotion rotated in the same direction as the Sun and planets do today.

3. The temperature rose due to partcules colliding: The creation of the Sun took place.

4. Now the temperature fall and the materials condensed.

5. These fragments stuck together and with the gravitational attraction formed the planets.

Inner planets

• Inner planets are the closest to the Sun .

• The have few or no moons ad no ring systems.

• They are rich in refractory metals and minerals such as silicates.

• They are separated from the outter planets by an Asteroid Belt.

Page 4: Solar system

Outer planets

• Outer planets are the furthest from the Sun.

• They have large and giant moons.

• They are made up of a giantic mass of gases and volatile substances and have only small amounts of iron and silicates.

The Sun

• The Sun revolves in the same direction as theplanets .

• All the planets move around the Sun, approximately on the same ecliptic plane.

•It is the Solar Systems star and it is its chief component.

• It releases enormous amounts of energy mostly radiated into space.
