This guide describes how to install Add-on Applications. Be sure to read this guide before install Add-on Applications.

The guide assumes that you are familiar with a personal computer and your machine.

For information on a personal computer, refer to the manuals provided with the personal computer. For information on how to operate your machine, refer to the guide (Administrator/User Guide) provided with each machine.

1 For the ApeosPort-VI Series or the DocuCentre-VI Series Machines

If you use the ApeosPort-VI Series or the DocuCentre-VI Series machines, you need to enable the Custom Services feature and the Embedded Plug-ins feature using CentreWare Internet Services.

Enable Custom Services and Embedded Plug-insYou need to enable the Embedded Plug-ins feature and the Custom Services feature on the menu of CentreWare Internet Services to use Add-on Applications.

NoteThe Embedded Plug-ins feature is enabled by default.You need to configure following settings only when any change has been made to the default setting.

Steps0 1 Start a web browser on your computer connected to a network.

2 Enter the machine's IP address into the address bar on the browser, and then press the <Enter> key. CentreWare Internet Services starts.

NoteWhile connecting to or operating CentreWare Internet Services, a pop-up screen prompting you to enter the user ID and passcode may appear. In this case, enter the system administrator’s user ID and passcode, andthen click [OK].

3 Select the [Properties] tab > [Security] > [Plug-in / Custom Services Settings] > [Custom Services], and then select the [Enabled] check box.

4 Click [Apply].

5 Select the [Properties] tab > [Security] > [Plug-in / Custom Services Settings] > [Embedded Plug-ins], and then select the [Enabled] check box.

6 Click [Apply].

7 When the message prompting you to reboot the machine appears, click [Reboot Machine].Click [OK] on the confirmation screen. The machine is rebooted and the specified setting is reflected.

If you use the ApeosPort-V Series or the DocuCentre-V Series machines, you need to set the license key for software options.

Check Software VersionThe license key for software options is different depending on the software version of the following machines.

• ApeosPort-V C7776/C6676/C5576/C4476/C3376/C2276

• DocuCentre-V C7776/C6676/C5576/C4476/C3376/C2276

• ApeosPort-V C7785/C6685/C5585

• DocuCentre-V C7785/C6685/C5585

You can check the software version of the machine according to the following steps.

Steps0 1 Press the <Machine Status> button on the control panel.

2 On the machine confirmation screen, press the [Machine Information] tab, and then press [Software Version].

3 Check the software version on the [Software Version] screen.• To check whether you need to install add-on applications (software options) or not:

Check the version of [Contents].

• To check the license key for software options:

Check the version of [Controller ROM].

Set the License Key for Software Options with Your MachineA license key for software options is required depending on the model.

For information on the license key for software options, refer to the last page.

Important• It takes a few seconds longer than usual to warm-up the machine after you set the license key to

make available software options.• If any add-on applications are installed on the machine in advance, the service buttons of the

add-on applications are added on the Services Home screen after the license key is set.We recommend that you delete unnecessary buttons under [System Settings] > [Common Service Settings] > [Screen / Button Settings] > [Services Home].

Note• If [Web Browser Setup] is shown under [System Settings] on the [Tools] screen, the license key has

been already set.

Steps0 1 Press the <Log In/Out> button on the control panel.

2 Enter the system administrator’s user ID with the numeric keypad or the keyboard displayed on the screen, and press [Enter].

NoteWhen a passcode is used to log into the machine, select [Next] and then enter the system administrator’s passcode.

3 Press [Tools] on the Services Home screen.

NoteThe screen displayed on the machine may differ depending on the model.

4 Select [System Settings] > [Common Service Settings] > [Maintenance].

5 Select [Software Options].

6 Enter the license key for your machine with the keyboard.

7 Select [Reboot].

8 After rebooting the machine, log in to the machine as a system administrator according to the step 1 and 2.

9 Press [Tools] on the Services Home screen.

10 Select [System Settings] > [Common Service Settings] > [Plug-in Settings].

11 Press [Close] until the [Tools] screen appears.

12 If [Embedded Plug-ins] is set to [Disabled], set it to [Enabled].

13 To exit [Tools], select [Close].
