It shall be spread to min 450mm depth over planting beds and 150mm depth over turf areas and graded to fall. 2 Herbicide and Cultivation: Topsoil to be treated with an application of herbicide prior to planting, where necessary, strictly in accordance with the Control of Pesticides Regulations1986 (or otherwise updated/ superceded legislation), and following manufacturer's instructions by qualified staff. The topsoil shall then be cultivated to 150mm depth. 3 Container Grown Shrubs, Transplants and Whips: Shrubs and transplants shall comply with the National Plant Specification. TREES IN HARD LANDSCAPE: Tree pit 1200x1200x900mm depth with 150mm depth of clean stone to the base and 750mm depth good quality topsoil. Tree to be set in Porous Arboresin, in a Dorset Gold colour as supplied by GreenBlue Urban or similar approved. Standard galvanised frames are available to provide a paving/bound gravel edge and help support paving loading for light traffic. To have an inner circular aluminium collar to support the expansion of the tree stem. Tree to be secured with 4 x Timber stakes with 4mm guy wire to anchor the tree in place. Top of rootball to be secured with a gripple tensioner 2no. per tree and 125 x 25mm timber frame to protect the rootball. ReRoot root barrier to be set around the tree pit. All the trees to have irrigation pipe (to wrap around the rootball of the tree) and secure the end of the pipe to the tree stake (e.g. RootRain Metro as supplied by Green Blue Urban). 8 Watering: Watering: Plant only into moist soil and water thoroughly to the full depth of soil immediately after planting. Water regularly through the establishment period (minimum 3 months) to prevent dehydration. Tree should be watered in when planted, and at the point of bud burst in the spring and should be continued throughout the spring and summer until the leaves have fallen in autumn. Water should be applied to the base of the tree, evenly distributed over the entirety of the root-ball to encourage even root development. Watering is advised for the first 2 summers after planting, further to this the tree should be able to access water from the surrounding soil. During the height of summer, water should be applied at a rate of 2 domestic bucket fulls (or 20 liters of water) every other day. This figure is the aim to reach during the height of summer and can be gradually increased to this in the spring and decreased before ceasing watering in the autumn. Plants to be supplied in accordance with the HTA 'National Plant Specification' and from a HTA certified nursery. All plants and trees to be planted in accordance with BS3936 & BS8545(2014). Delivery and handling of all plant material to be in accordance with BS4428/JCLI/CPSE Code of Practice for 'Handling and Establishing Landscape Plants' Parts I, II and III.
