Foreword Social media has come along way…

Social media tools and technologies have come a long way since Facebook and Twitter made their entrance into the marketing departments of iGaming brands in the late ‘00. Today, marketing is increasingly in the hands of your players as their voices are amplified with sports book forums, blogs, twitter and facebook. As one of the industry’s first Director of Social Media for an operator I’ve witnessed this shift first hand. Brands are now investing more resources and budgets in their social media program as social

media is maturing within iGaming organisations. A social media program is no longer isolated to marketing acquisition but extend across departments such as Customer service, CRM and PR. There are also excellent use cases for how departments such as bookmaking, HR and finance and can contribute positively to an organisations social media program. With Social Monitor we wanted to shed light on what’s being said about sports books, who’s being talked about, where and who’s talking.

We wanted to move the focus away from only looking at what brands are doing on their own channels (i.e. their Facebook page etc), and look at the big picture of brands in social media which is increasingly influenced to players and other 3rd parties. I sincerely hope you will enjoy and find a lot of valuable use in this first Social Monitor report!
