What Should I Know About Social Media?
• Social media isn’t a substitute for picking up the phone • Instead, use it as an opening for your customers to learn
more about your business: “You can check out my Facebook page to learn more about how I’m using our products.”
• Yes, we DO monitor our Consultant pages • It’s important to maintain a professional image on social
media • Stay up to date on changes to our Consultant Policy Guide
to be sure you’re in compliance • Email the social media team if you’re not sure about
something • Put in quality time, not a large quantity of time
• Share the posts we’ve created and customize them for your fans and community
• Overwhelmed? Pick 1 or 2 social media outlets to get started • Already have Facebook? Try adding Twitter or Pinterest.
Facebook 101
DO: • Keep your business and personal pages separate (see our quick start guide for setting
up a brand page). • Clearly identify yourself as a Pampered Chef Consultant • Make it easy for yourself! Use the cover photos that we provide on Consultant’s
Corner, and share posts from our corporate Facebook page • Make it personal. Post content local to your community (weather, special events,
foodie news, etc)
DON’T • Please don’t use the same profile picture and cover photo as the official Pampered
Chef Facebook page (you’ll risk having your page removed!) • Don’t share copyrighted images (or any images that aren’t yours) without permission
from the source • Never save and upload images that aren’t yours!
Pinterest 101
1. What is Pinterest? Pinterest is a place to organize and share online images you find interesting or inspiring. 2. What’s a Pin? Once uploaded or shared on Pinterest, your images become known as Pins, which the user can place on customized, themed Boards. 3. What’s a Board? You can create Boards for any topic imaginable, from cats to classic cars to cats driving classic cars. The possibilities are endless. 4. What’s a Repin? Once you've added friends to your Pinterest account (you follow them as you follow Facebook or Twitter friends) you will have a customized feed where you can see all of the fantastic things that they're pinning too. See an idea you love? Just hover over that pin in the feed and click on the "Repin" button to add it to one of your boards.
• Pinterest: • Our “Be Your Own Boss” board on Pinterest has over 10,000
followers • We regularly update the board with Opportunity call information,
inspirational quotes (that link to our “Be a Consultant” page), videos, and more.
• Share and “Repin” these posts to your own boards
Social Media & Recruiting
Social Media & Recruiting • Facebook:
• We create an event for our weekly Opportunity calls that allows you to share the call information, even when we don’t post to our corporate page
• The event is left “public” so that Consultants can send invites to potential recruits • Share the event on your wall, invite fans, and remind them to register for a chance to win
