How Does My Magazine Represent

Social Groups?

Page 2: Social groups represented by picture of my model

Why My Front Cover Image Represents Social Groups:

• Firstly, I have chosen my front cover image as a representation of the social groups because I believe that my model (Matty’s) pose is a typical late teenage pose which is used a lot in various magazines like ‘NME’ & ‘Kerrang!’ (below this power point on my blog post you will see examples of similar poses)

• I have used this pose because it is a statement of ‘anger’ and I believe it looks effective on the front cover because of the eye contact and the ‘growly’ gesture is relatable to my target audience (as you will also see further down in my blog post where I interview members of college who my magazine is aimed at.)

And Lastly… The Picture Itself Annotated:

The guitar and his pic holder necklace tells us he is a musician and the colour red represents anger (like his expression looks)

‘Angry’ expression- typical teen who likes his music as evidence he is holding a guitar

Dressed like a stereotypical ‘indie’ teenager with his hoody and the coloured skull t-shirt- we associate skulls with rock.#m
