…or you can just click ‘Don’t ask me again’ to buzz it off (it wont ask you again).

Learning the basics

Immediately after you log-in you will see a calendar with all your current room bookings for this week.

If this is your first time, you wont have any bookings yet.

If you hover over a booking, it will give more information about it:

If you scroll further down the page, there are calendars for the next few months.

Click on a date to view your bookings for that date.

Page 4: SOBS Music Online Booking Instructions

On the left hand side are all your links where you can check, edit and make room bookings.

Students will have a menu that looks like this:

The highlighted menus (‘Main Menu’ and ‘Resources’) are the most commonly used menus.

My bookings: Go to home page showing all your bookings

My reports: I haven’t used this, not sure what it does.

My profile: Set your personal profile details, including password.

Finder: Search function which doesn’t work very well (don’t use it).

Logoff: Log out of the system.

All MIC Rooms: Check all bookings for MIC studios, labs and venue

Blocks: Check all bookings for blocks of rooms (eg CR1,SF1,SF2)

Contact Us: Do not use this, instead contact Ayla on

[email protected] for tech support.

Online help: Access online info and instruction sheets

How to make a new booking

1. Go to ‘Resources’ menu ‘All MIC Rooms’

This shows all room bookings for the coming week. The first column is always today.

NOTE: If you hover over any booking, it will give you more information about the booking. As a student you can view all bookings, but you can only edit/delete your own bookings. To view bookings for one room or block only (instead of all), click on the link for that room in the Resources menu:

2. Click on any empty space (do not click directly over any existing hyperlinks).

If you hover over any bookable space, a pop-up will appear that says ‘Make a booking here’. You can click on a space that already has a booking in it as long as you don’t click directly on the link to the other booking which is already there, because that will take you to the wrong page. Clicking on an empty space will take you to this page:

3. Enter the details of your booking:

a. Resource: Select the room you want to book.

i. All MIC Rooms = All single rooms, use this if you just want to book one room.

ii. Blocks = Use this if you are booking several rooms that are often ‘blocked’ or grouped together, for

example CR1+SF1+SF2 or CR2+ODB.

These are pre-defined blocks (or groups) of rooms created just to save you time, so you can book

several rooms at the same time for the one class (instead of booking each individually).

b. Date & Time: The date is already entered, but you can extend the time as you like.

c. Class Name: Enter the name of the class you are booking for (required).

d. Assessment Item: Enter the name of the assessment item you will be working on (required).

e. Repeat: Do not tick this, students are not authorised to make repeat bookings (if you attempt to make a

repeat booking, the booking request will be denied by MIC staff).

4. Click Save.

Your booking request will be automatically emailed to MIC staff.

You will receive an email letting you know once it has been approved or denied.

Until it is approved (or denied) the booking will show up on the calendar with ‘PENDING’ next to it to let others know you have requested it already.
