Below are some tips to help you plan the fun and enjoy the summer! T i p S f o r T h r o w i n g a Set a date. Choose a day when you have plenty of time for a leisurely set-up and everyone can stay out late! plan the food and drinks! have healthy snacks for the little ones and cold refreshments for all! get all the essentials: tables, chairs, glasses, plates, napkins, utensils, barbeque grills, side dishes and other party essentials. go green! have plenty of trash cans and bins for recycling bottles and cans. Set up a garbage pickup for the day after the party. Dress up the block with colorful decorations, lots of balloons and piñatas for the kids. Tiki torches and twinkling lights are festive when the sun sets. plan some easy, fun activities for kids and adults. water balloon tosses and egg races are always fun. Send invitations to everyone on the block. get the kids involved and have them stuff the invites in everyone’s mailbox. Check first to see if this is legal in your area.
