SO GOOD, BADIT’S

RED Mountain Resort is not for everybody. Clearly, some skiers and snowbooarders like waiting in lift-lines for three hours a day and ghting forpowder. Who are we to question their motivation?

But, if you’re looking for an antidote to the stale, predictable mega-resort experience, you just found it. RED, as we call it, has a rich history andthousands of acres of terrain for you to explore. Many more famous resorts would kill to have our combination of deep, dry snow, accessible location, and exciting, varied terrain on ve mountain peaks. They’d probably be a littleintimidated by our uncrowded slopes and laid-back vibe, mind you.

Us? We kinda like it this way...

“IT WASN’T CROWDED ENOUGH”RED is the last great undiscovered resort. Who else delivers 4,200 acres of pristine skiing unfettered by overdevelopment? Who else sends you home with a huge smile on your face and money left in your account?

Exactly.

At RED, other skiers and snowboarders won’t be seen as “enemies” because there’s plenty of pow to go around. Plenty. You’re almost guaranteed to make friends riding here, whether they’re our famously friendly locals or other visitors who’ve given up on McSkiing.

Here, the slopes are uncrowded, the people are unpretentious, and we love to share our unique mountain environment with folks who truly appreciate it. (Folks like you?)

A day in the mountains shouldn’t be another rat race.

Hardcore skiers and snowboarders have been coming to RED for years because few resorts are blessed with our amazing topography.

Complete 360-degree access to each mountain peak enables considerably more skiable acres per lift. Think of it as “3-D Skiing”... Huge 890 meter (2,919 foot) vertical drop. Long, consistent fall line skiing.

Our steeps are world-class and a true point of pride around here, but we also oer great intermediate terrain, cruiser runs, and the nest gladed tree-skiing you’ll nd outside of a cat-skiing operation. Even during the “busiest” weeks. there is room to spread out and make your own tracks. Explore at your own pace!

The scale of the resort expands by an additional 2,500 acres if you access RED’s “side-country” terrain. Unlike many resorts, we invite you to responsibly enjoy this easy-access backcountry, including Grey Mountain and Mt. Roberts. The best part is it leads you back to our lift-serviced area and expands your terrain options considerably.

You won’t have to hike to nd fresh powder but you can if you want.

“THIS IS NOT THE TERRAIN I’M ACCUSTOMED TO!”

We’re proud of our light, abundant powder snow. Truth be told, we’re part of the elite ve-percent “club” of North American resorts that get over 750 cms of snow annually — 25 feet!

Our part of the province, a.k.a. “The Powder Highway,” is legendary as the birthplace of both heli-skiing and cat-skiing. So, bring your goggles, your long board or your fat skis.

In the B.C. interior we dodge the heavy coastal snow that can make skiing a challenge at other northwest resorts. We receive “snorkel pow,” the light, uy kind you’ll nd at, say, Jackson Hole or in the Alps. Our snow has a bit more moisture in it than Utah’s and, having sampled snow around the globe, we can conclude RED’s powder is perfect.

Powder is what we do. And we do it like no other...

“I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT MY SNORKEL”

“WHERE AM ISUPPOSED TOSPEND MONEY?”

If your idea of a ski holiday involves buying fur stoles or spending a grand a day on tchotchkes, you’ll hate RED. We are a ski mountain not a shopping mall... If you love authentic mountain experiences, fresh air and stunning views, well, you just found your second home.

Our lift tickets, at $66/day*, are one of the great values in the resort world. With other hills of comparable stature routinely charging around $96/day, our bang for the buck is obvious. “It’s like getting a free steak dinner with every lift ticket!” Add in all the extra runs you’ll get (thanks to our mellow crowds) and a good day at RED will be more satisfying than a week at your friendly neighborhood mega-resort.

(P.S. All days at RED are good days... )

“WE DIDN’T EVEN HAVE A BOOT CONCIERGE!”

RED is also a bargain on the lodging front. We oer a wide array of options, from luxurious, new condos at the base of the hill to more homey, budget lodging in nearby Rossland.

Even our top-end lodging is priced so competitively you won’t have to be rich to stay right at the base. “Powder to the people!”

“WHY DID WERENT A HUMMER, HONEY?”

Others would have you believe that we’re “remote” but RED is easy to get to. Whether driving, ying, or a combination of the two, travel is a snap.

Located within the community of Rossland, B.C. and only 10 kms north of the Canada/US border, RED is convenient for both regional and destination visitors. (Remember your passport; forget your worries.)

It’s a quick, 2.5 hour drive from Spokane, Wash. which has direct ights from most major U.S. cities. No mountain passesto negotiate means no Hummer required...

Daily regional ights are available to Castlegar (30 mins to RED) and Trail airports (20 mins to RED) with Air Canada andPacic Coastal, respectively. Other airport options include Kelowna (3 hours to RED) and Cranbrook (3 hours to RED).

We’ve pledged to build our real estate in a conscious manner, to avoid overbuilding monster homes and to reduce our cultural and environmental impact wherever possible. All this while oering modern and economical slope-side homes that make sense in the context of the existing community.

We know that Rossland and RED are truly special. Keeping this unique character and heritage intact while updating the most important amenities has been our approach since Day One. From lifts to lodging to RED’s carefully remodeled day lodge, we are proud of our past — and even more excited for our future.

The 125 year old town of Rossland is a real town full of real people doing real things. There’s a warmth here, a back-to-basics charm that most ski areas have lost because they’ve tried to engineer an articial exerience. Young or old, most of the locals are riders, too. They understand.

Our authentic small town culture is evident in Rossland’s funky shops, unique restaurants and great entertainment options. When a local you just met on the chair invites you into his secret tree run before having you over for dinner, then you’ll truly know you’re someplace special.

“THE LOCALS ARE WAYTOO FRIENDLY”

It might be called RED Mountain, but trust us: it’s

covered in the white stu from October to May. With

over 25 feet of light Kootenay powder per year and

some of the nest fall-line skiing in North America,

RED is world class, accessible and aordable.

For folks accustomed to the predictable mega-resort

experiance, RED’s authentic character and oerings

might be seen as a bad thing. And, well, we think

that’s a good thing.
