Not only a preacher . . . . . . . . . . . but also a farmer !

In the next newsletter you will see the work in progress of the pond. The corn cribs and chicken coop will take

some time to finish as the rainy season is now here. The farm animals will be seen in their pastures. These pastors

are continually working at their churches and their micro-enterprises. Please keep praying for their energy!

There are dangers farming in the rain forest. This long white snake is poisonous and one of the men was bitten near

his knee. There are no medical centers near so the African way is putting one of the healing stones on the cleaned

wound to absorb the poison. The man lived.

Pastor Claude has a palm pod in his hand. These men are using hand tools to clear the land to make room to plant

all the seeds brought from America. In the third picture they are spreading the seeds on the hills they have

constructed so that that flood rains do not carry them away during rainy season.

The large rat Pastor Claude is holding is dinner for the evening. When preparing the soil they eat whatever they find.

The second picture has palm leaves shading the watered seeds from the hot sun. The last picture has seedlings in

little plastic bags being watered to start their growth. Farming in Africa is tremendously challenging.
