PRODUCT SHEET NEW SOLUTION ENABLES COMPARISON OF SMARTPLANT ® P&ID DATA TO PDMS 3D DESIGN Choose SmartPlant P&ID Design Validation to validate your PDMS 3D detailed physical design against your SmartPlant P&ID logical design. SmartPlant P&ID Design Validation provides a powerful automated workflow for examining data attributes and topology between the schematic and 3D environments. Take advantage of this new product to achieve improved data accuracy and greater productivity. VALUE PROPOSITION SmartPlant P&ID, Intergraph’s innovative engineering and schematics solution, is rapidly growing in use in projects being performed around the world. SmartPlant P&ID Design Validation is Intergraph’s response to our customers’ demand to supply an open solution for comparing SmartPlant P&ID data to designs produced using legacy 3D systems, such as PDMS. Intergraph’s customer survey results have determined that SmartPlant P&ID Design Validation offers one of the highest workflow interface values as compared to workflows already available in the market today. WORKFLOW The solution workflow begins with configuration, which is performed only once per project. Configuration includes the process of defining: n Data mapping n Design correlation criteria n Design comparison criteria Next, data is imported from SmartPlant P&ID and PDMS, and then the comparison stage begins. Data is auto-correlated, and attributes and design content/topology are compared. Any inconsistencies that need to be resolved are highlighted. To support the work process, whenever discrepancies are discovered, you can create notes to document the discrepancies and associate them with the correct department. A report can then be sent to the team members in the discipline(s) owning the data. SmartPlant ® P&ID Design Validation ENJOY THE BENEFITS n Significant savings in labor hours by reducing iterative cycles n Consistency in logical 2D and physical/ detailed 3D design n Increased productivity by making the right design decision early on n Prevention of errors down the line due to more frequent comparison of P&IDs and 3D models n Reduced cost and improved schedules by ensuring accurate procurement of materials n Increased reliability through automation versus manual, visual comparison n Increased data accuracy through better resolution of design inconsistencies
