T he infectious music video has racked up over 350 million views on YouTube and
sparked a frenzy of parodies from fans across the world including Filipino prisoners, US Naval Academy, Gandalf, and embarrassingly, “Aussie Battler Style”. Psy will kick off his promo tour with performances on Sunrise and X Factor on October 15. Rumour has it that his recent trip to the Sunshine State may inspire the location for his highly anticipated next music video. We personally think Psy should try ‘Gangnam Underwater Style’ on the Great Barrier Reef.

What about you?
A fter galloping his way up the charts and smashing through YouTube records faster

The Food Story FirstKim Chi
The taste was not like the one that you had made for me!
Now then how can we gratify Julia’s curiosity?
Kimchi is one of many well-known dishes in Korea. It has been showing off its fame by being introduced as a healthy food around the world. Most Korean people know what the difference between the taste of fresh Kimchi and fermented Kimchi. They also know how to cook them in many different cooking styles.
Fresh Kimchi tastes like a hot spicy salad with fish sauce. It is called seasoned fresh Kimchi “Gotjori” in Korean.
When It has kept for more than one week out of the fridge, it has turned to fermented Kimchi, a sour taste. In fact, Kimchi contains powerful source of lactic acid bacteria which helps our normal gut bacteria to function more efficiently through the fermentation process. It is the same nutritive element present in fermented dairy products such as cheese and yogurt.
Fermenting Kimchi has been providing its perfect sustenance and being loved by Koreans for its mature taste over the centuries.
However, this action also develops a strong smell and with its tongue - burning taste, Kimchi has sometimes been unwelcome in western society. To keep nutrition and attach the familiarity with western cuisine is there any way to have the cake and eat it?
Kimchi creates an appetising sourish taste and reduces its spiciness and stinging smell when cooked. Frying Kimchi harmonises beautifully with cubed ham, chopped onions and steamed rice.
It doubles up its aroma and taste on the stove.
Brave Sisters
Julia made a kimchi fried rice for her boyfriend, David who loves only eating what he likes.
Although she used the same recipe as her Korean friend taught with a newly-bought-ever-fresh Kim-chi, the taste had not turned out like the one that she had before.
