Edition CN1112 • WBE Ink • Page 2 Adaptive Lighting – New Standards adopted by California Title 24 WBE Audio Visual Interactive Whiteboard Enhances Training at Novato PD Novato PD Captain David Jeffries (right) and WBE AV Engineer Brian Costello in front of one the “Smart Boards” at Novato PD W BE Audio Visual recently installed two “Smart Boards” for the Novato Police De- partment, which, according to Captain David Jeffries, “…has given Novato PD its best training experience yet.” The interactive white boards, which support multi touch interaction, will be utilized for the department’s trainings, including self-defense, fire arms and emergency driving training; as well as special operations. “The Smart Boards also have the capability to display video’s, which adds an important dimension to our training.” said Captain Jeffries. “This new tool will not only improve train- ing, but also increase officer safety and crime prevention by helping our department monitor activities in and around Novato more efficiently and effectively through display from our security cameras, dispatch system and vehicle tracking software.” WBE Audio Visual Engineer Brian Costello has worked closely with Cap- tain Jeffries and his team to help train the department’s staff to fully utilize the benefits of this new technology. Captain Jeffries expressed his appre- ciation at what has been a fruitful and on-going relationship with WBE on a variety of technology projects. “The personalized, professional and prompt service and follow through are very important reasons we continue to work with WBE,” said Captain Jeffries. WBE HQ – Certified BICSI Training Facility I n March of 2010, W. Bradley Elec- tric’s Novato Office became a BICSI ITS Cabling Installation Program Authorized Training Facility. At the same time, Jason Fredlund, WBE Telcom Proj- ect Manager/Estimator became a BICSI Certified Trainer and has been conducting BICSI Certified Training Courses, which offer our Telcom Installers the opportuni- ty to receive the following certifications: l BICSI ITS Installer 1 l BICSI ITS Installer 2, Copper l BICSI ITS Installer 2, Optical Fiber l BICSI ITS Technician Programs I n the interest of our customers, W. Bradley Electric is paying close attention to the recent changes in California Title 24. At the end of May the California Energy Commission adopted new, more stringent energy efficiency standards, which include a new require- ment for interior commercial lighting multi-level control for interior lighting systems. Adaptive lighting—lighting that automatically dims or shuts off when it’s not needed—represents one of the largest near-term opportunities for energy savings, and its inclusion in the state’s building code marks vital progress. WBE Audio Visual recently installed two “Smart Boards” for the Novato Police De-
