HAIcause4-56%ofdeathsintheneonatalperiod(majorityinSSAfricaandSEAsia)
HAIratesinneonatalICUsareveryhighwithpredominanceofHA-bloodstreaminfectionsanddevice-associatedinfections.
VAPandCR-BSIdensitieswereparticularlyhighVAP=109- 143episodes/1000ventilator-daysCR-BSI=21- 600episodes/1000catheter-days.
HighratesofAMRinfections:- 70%ofneonatalBSInotsusceptibletoanempiricregimenofampicillinandgentamicin.
