So with gas prices being outrageous why drive an hour or more to the
mountains? Second semester not only brings more snow to Buffalo but alsooption of riding the bus with Schuss. Tuesday and Thursday nights we offer Kissing Bridge. On Wednesday and Friday nights the bus heads down to HolValley. We offer three stops to leave from, Ellicott, Governors, and Main Str matter where you live, either on campus or off, getting to a bus is not a probl
If you want to ride the bus plan on calling into the Schussmeisters offi3100) the day you will be riding. We begin taking reservations at 9am sharp.as soon as possible because seats are limited; make sure you have your Schunumber when you call. The busses leave promptly at 5:15 pm from Ellicott,from Governors and at 5:30 pm from South Campus, make sure you are on totherwise we will leave without you. Make sure you bring your Schuss ID tyou will not be permitted to board if you do not have it. If you need to cancereservation, you may do so until 3pm. If you fail to make the bus 2 times witmaking a proper cancellation, your busing privileges will be suspended untilfine is paid.

Over winter break, after presents were unwrapped, and people rang in the New Year, a few (and by few I mean 71) selectskiers and snowboarders packed their suitcases, stuffing whatever extra clothes into ski boots and board bags, and set on a journeyleaving the marginal conditions at Buffalo to ride real snow andruns that last longer than a McNugget commercial. On threeseparate flights, the lucky participants in this trip left on FridayJanuary 4 th, the next day being the first possible day to ski. Withmost people up with the sun, looking to catch first chair, it was
clear that this odd bunch of riders based out of a Western NewYork University meant business. Riding the chairs up, anxious totouch that fresh, untracked powder, it seemed that nothing couldget any better.
The riding was good, but one could not help fromstopping at the top of a lift, or pausing atop one of Brecks perfectterrain parks to take a gander at the elusive t-bar. Thoughintimidating at first, many took the opportunity to take the t-bar tothe top and ride the back country bowls that Colorado is known
for. A few years ago, those bowls are all you can ask for whengoing to Breckenridge, but with the addition of the new ImperialChair Lift, the highest lift in North America, you can rise to over 12,800 feet. If the altitude isnt too much for you, take a hike upthe extra two hundred to the peak, and get a view more -

When a day of skiing is at an end, theover. With a great night life from ranging froand restaurants to bars and nightclubs, there isdo. We also had the opportunity to take part itradition in which the locals thank the snow gtourist season; complete with a parade, chili cthroughout the night.
With a massive mountain encompassitrails, 18 lifts and six terrain parks, its easy totakers started searching for jobs in the Rockyafter they returned while others talked about gexcursion next year. When most people think about Ullr Fest out inBreckenridge, Colorado what do you think comes to mind?Mass drinking, funny hats, and crazy floats. Well yes, I am
pleased to say that all these things are part of the festivitiesof Ullr Fest but it is so much more. Ullr Fest is a week longfestival to celebrate the Norse God of Snow. When they saySNOW the mean foot after foot of fresh pow pow everyday! The annual event contains Ullympics, an Ullr Bonfire,and of course the crazy and insane Ullr Fest Parade thattakes place on Main Street. This year Schussmeisters got afirst hand opportunity to witness the 43 rd year celebration of this so-called festival. None of us knew what we wereabout to see but word on the street was it was going to bethe wildest events/parade we have ever seen. We were alsotold we may not want to bring little kids because some of the floats are a little inappropriate and they werentkidding. As a bunch of us heading down to town to check out what all of the hype was about after a day of riding, we
began to see the streets filled with people. People lined theroads as well as stood on their balconies screaming andchanting in excitement to catch the sight of the people andtheir floats coming down the streets. Tourists and localsgathered together to party and defiantly drink together. Allof us were amazed and pumped; we have never seen anytype of parade that even comes close to this.
