ORCA,ORGAA bend-resistant and wear-resistantstainless chrome steel seal tape isused, which means high performanceand long-life.
ORCA〈Basic type〉
1. Installed with a guide for greateraccuracy and durability.
The guide mechanism is composed of a slider and cylinder body. The high rigid body enables a heavy load with highly accurate control.
2.The variety of options enables strokeadjustment and high-speed operation.
The stroke end position can be finely adjusted by a stroke adjustingbolt, and a shock absorber that will absorb the impact of shocks at thestroke end under high speed operation, can be both selected byoption. It can assure high-speed operation and highly accurate stops.
Maximum load capacity: 784.5N (φ50)Maximum bending moment: 112.8N (φ50)
Wide range of products strongly supports space-saving and simplicity in design. Bore size:φ16, φ20, φ25, φ32, φ40, andφ50

Cautions: 1. The moment including the inertiaforce generated when the load ismoved and stopped must not exceedthe above-mentioned value. For themass and the piston speed, see the
. 2. Rolling moment: Mr should not be
applied as much as possible.
Cautions: 1. For the highest operating speed, see the specifications table. (ORCAseries: page 817; ORGA series:page 828). Consult us when youexceed the values indicated in thespecification tables.
2. The mass shown in the graph is thetotal mass carried by the rodlesscylinders.
3. The cushion can be adjustedaccording to the piston speed andthe mass, to effectively absorb theshocks.
Cushion capacity
Cushion capacity
Though the slit type rodless cylinders areequipped with standard adjustable cushions, the allowance of the mass and the speed iswithin the range underneath the followinggraph. If one of these is exceeded, an externalshock absorber should be installed to absorbthe energy.
Support Precaution when using F-type support for ORCA and L-type bracket simultaneously
When the stroke is long and the load is large, the cylinder body may deflect. In this case, itis also necessary to support the intermediateposition so that the R value is below thegraph, as shown in the figure below. Theintermediate section can be easily supportedby installing the necessary number of F- andG-type supports to the cylinder body.
When L-type brackets are installed together with F-type supports, and the L-type brackets areused as shown in figure q below, the cylinder installation position becomes low, and the F-typesupports cannot go in. L-type brackets should be used as shown in figure w below so thedirection becomes FF=LF2.Note: Note that the pitch of the mounting hole changes for the installation direction of L-type brackets.

1. Although the mounting direction isunrestricted, if it is installed in places whereexposed to water or oil drips, or excessivedust, the piston yoke should be turned toface down, or the seal tape should beprotected with a cover.
2. Electric welding should be absolutelyavoided during and after the installation ofthe rodless cylinders. Welding current ontothe cylinder could cause break down ormelt inner parts and/or body.
Mass of impact speed and impact object
Graph of the impact speed and mass of impact object
Remark : Horizontal impactWhen the air pressure is 0.5MPa, and ashock absorber is used.
The intermediate stop control
Design-wise, there is an external leakage ofair from the slit type rodless cylinders. Therefore, problems occur such as thestopping position cannot be maintained in theintermediate stop control with the all portsblock 3-position valve etc., and the pistonspeed cannot be controlled when restarting.Use both-sided pressure control circuit, suchas using PAB connection 3-position valve.Consult us with regard to intermediate stopcontrol circuits under a constant heavy load, due to vertical mounting, etc.
Stroke adjustment
●When using with a shock absorberWhen using with a shock absorber, the strokecan be easily adjusted over all cylinderstrokes. First, all 4 holder mounting boltsshould be loosened and move the holder sothat the stroke should be roughly determined. Then tighten the holder mounting bolts toinstall the holder. Next, loosen the shockabsorber mounting bolt, then the shockabsorber mounting location can be finelyadjusted by rotating by hand, or with a wrench. After adjusting, the mounting bolt should be tightened and the shock absorber fixed. The stroke can be adjusted in the range of φ16:15mm on one side, φ20, φ25:20mm onone side, φ32, φ40, φ50:30mm on one side. When adjustments are required to be madeover this range, the holder should be moved. Ifa shock absorber is used with a adjustablecushion cylinder, it might bound, so when it isrequired to stop at the end of the stroke usinga shock absorber, the adjusting cushionneedle should be fully opened.
Caution: Do not allow a strong shock to the slitpart of the cylinder body.
Cautions: 1. Tighten the 4 holder mounting boltsequally so that the striker evenly hitsthe front surface of the shockabsorber.
2. Use the shock absorber within therange of the specifications.
3. Set the load so that the impact energydoes not exceed the maximumabsorption of the shock absorber.
4. The maximum impact speed of theoptional shock absorber is 1000mm/s.
5. The speed at the moment of impactwith the shock absorber should notexceed 1000mm/s. Note that this islikely to greatly differ from the averagespeed of the cylinder.
6. If it is installed exposed to wherewater or oil drips, or where there isexcessive dust, it should be protectedwith a cover. Oil, water or dust on theshock absorber rod can reduce thelife of the shock absorber.
7. Do not loosen or remove the lockscrew on the shock absorber rearend. The oil enclosed internally willleak and hurt the function of the shockabsorber.

●When using with a stroke adjusting bolt. When using with a stroke adjusting bolt, fineadjustment of the stroke can be made at theend of the stroke. Loosen the stroke adjustingbolts, then finely adjust stroke by rotating thestroke adjusting bolt, and after adjustmenttighten the mounting bolts.
Always thoroughly f lush out (blowingcompressed air) the piping before connectingit to rodless cylinder. Extraneous metal chips, sealing tape, rust, etc., generated duringplumbing may cause air leakage or otherimproper operation.
General precautions
Piping
It is difficult to completely stop externalleakage of air from the ORCA and ORGAseries slit type rodless cylinders, but dust, etc.which has adhered to the inner seal tape, andwhich causes most of the initial air leakage, can be easily removed. First, loosen the outer seal tape setscrews. Then detach the outer seal tape, and supplyabout 0.1MPa of air into the rodless cylinders.Next, put a cleaning tool into the cylinder bodyslit, and while pushing down on the inner sealtape, it is moved along the slit, and air blowsout the dust, etc.
Maintenance
This equipment can be used withoutlubrication. If lubrication is used, use turbine oilClass 1 (ISO VG32) or its equivalents.
Lubrication
1. If it is used where exposed to water or oildrips, or excessive dust, the tape maybreak or the life of the seals could beshortened, so it should be protected with acover or the piston yoke should be installedto face down. Also, it is recommended to use ORCJseries rodless cylinders with bellows (page842) when using in such a place.
2. Electric welding should be avoided near therodless cylinders. The outer seal tape canbe damaged by welding sparks.
3. Do not use when the media or ambientatmosphere contains any of the followingsubstances:Organic solvents, phosphorus acid estertype hydraulic oil, sulfurous acid gas, chlorine gas, acids
Atmosphere
1. Use air for the media. Consult us for the
use of any other media.
2. Air used in the cylinder should be clean air
that contains no deteriorated compressor
oil, etc. Install an air filter (filtration of 40 µm
or less) near the cylinder or valve to remove
drain contaminants or dust. In addition,
drain the air filter periodically.

Cautions: 1. Stroke adjustment cannot be done bymoving the holder. Use the holderwith a shock absorber when over awide range stroke adjustment isnecessary.
2. The cushion stroke shortens whenthe stroke is finely adjusted, and theshock absorbing capacity of theadjustable cushion decreases. Thecushion capacity decreases by about30% when the stroke adjustment ismaximized.
