For youths and teenagers, how do you make them interested in

Islamic education? This is because, sometimes even their

parents don’t really educate their children in Islamic education.

But as friends or as mentors of these youths, my question is

how do you make them interested. Because sometimes even

when you try to approach the topic to them, they will turn and

switch off. So how do you approach?

And what is your comment on some “new” approaches of

Da’wah – so-called “Da’wahpreneur ” , “Da’wah 2.0 ” etc. which

certain groups is highlighting.

the most popular. Even now, there are those who try to innovate the most popular. Even now, there are those who try to innovate

incorporating trends and approaches, sometimes imitating incorporating trends and approaches, sometimes imitating

corporate sales ‘corporate sales ‘gimmicksgimmicks’, popular techniques they have learnt ’, popular techniques they have learnt

from “from “motivational gurusmotivational gurus” or simply copy or adopt other religions’ ” or simply copy or adopt other religions’

evangelical approaches etc. evangelical approaches etc.



Some still think that Da’wah can be equated or likened as a form Some still think that Da’wah can be equated or likened as a form

product which had been produced; therefore he makes a mould product which had been produced; therefore he makes a mould

It is because you are training a da’i as an ambassador to Islam, It is because you are training a da’i as an ambassador to Islam,

such long duration is expected whereas producing mould caster is such long duration is expected whereas producing mould caster is

I do not intend to discourage any one from participating or I do not intend to discourage any one from participating or

Da’wah training, lest without the appropriate development, we Da’wah training, lest without the appropriate development, we

A Sister (revert/convert) once posed this question :

“How does one do “Da'wah” to our close ones

(siblings/relatives)? I find this rather to be more

difficult than making “Da'wah” towards a stranger.

Yet, we must never neglect them.”


Yes! Many do find it rather difficult to "Da'wah" (call or invite) own

siblings / relatives / spouses, as compared to doing same towards people

whom they barely know.

Yet, when we merely view our effort at only providing sincere advise -

unassuming i.e. by not trying to be talking from a 'higher pedestal' (as if

they assume the role of Da'i - as one having authority who is doing

Da'wah), it becomes much easier. And we should offer it to our close

ones routinely as part of our interaction with them.

When this becomes our disposition (Akhlaq), things will get easier.

The Sincere Advice

Allah SWT. Only then can our words and efforts be said to come from our Allah SWT. Only then can our words and efforts be said to come from our

will cause your deeds to be virtuous, and will forgive

you your sins. And [know that] whoever pays heed

(obeys) unto Allah and His Messenger has already

attained to a mighty triumph. ”

(Qur’an: Ahzab: 33: 70-71)



“ “ Indeed the ones possessed of true faith are Indeed the ones possessed of true faith are

those who those who believed in Allah and His Messenger believed in Allah and His Messenger

and then and then they did not entertain any doubt they did not entertain any doubt and and

strove hard in the Way of Allahstrove hard in the Way of Allah with their with their lives lives

and their and their possessionspossessions. .

These are the truthful ones (These are the truthful ones (SwO-DI-QUUNSwO-DI-QUUN).”).”

“And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel

[evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon

the one whom between you and him is enmity [will

become] as though he was a devoted friend.

But none is granted it except those who are patient,

and none is granted it except one having a great

portion [of good]. ”

(Qur’an: Fussilat: 41: 34-35)



“O YOU who have attained to faith! Be ever steadfast in

upholding equity (QISTw - justice tempered with Mercy),

bearing witness to the truth for the sake of Allah, even

though it be against your own selves or your parents and

kinsfolk. Whether the person concerned be rich or poor,

Allah's claim takes precedence over [the claims of] either

of them. Do not, then, follow your own desires, lest you

swerve from justice (‘ADL): for if you distort [the truth],

behold, Allah is indeed aware of all that you do! ”

(Qur’an: An-Nisa’: 4: 134)



"All praise is due to Allah, who has guided us unto this;

for we would certainly not have found the right path

unless Allah had guided us! Indeed, our Lord Sustainer's

messengers have told us the truth!" And [a voice] will call

out unto them: "This is the paradise which you have

inherited by virtue of your past deeds!”

(Qur’an: A’-raf: 7: 43)
