Slide into Spring The ancient practice of meditation has grown in popularity in recent years as more people discover the multitude of benefits associated with this practice. Meditation is a habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. It is said to not only reduce stress and develop concentration but also to aid in improving sleep, managing anxiety, decreasing blood pressure, and helping people control pain. There are a variety of meditative techniques including guided meditation, mindfulness meditation, qigong, tai chi and concentration meditation. Join Amanda on March 19th as she shares the benefits of morning meditation, some of the popular techniques and approaches. You may find that this is something that could enhance your sense of well- being. Path to Well-Being This past month we created our own bird feeders and placed them throughout the neighboring path of the Cross Seminole Trail. Our walking club has checked on them throughout the month and apparently both the birds and the local squirrels are fans of our bird feeders. We will be crafting more as we stroll into spring. This month we continue engaging with nature as we start our own Garden Club. The group will be planting succulents, starting an herb garden, and maintaining our butterfly garden in March. A green thumb is not required, anyone is welcome to join. This month we'll also be taking part in the Kindness Rocks Project. Together we'll paint rocks with designs and inspirational phrases then place them around the local neighborhood for others to find and enjoy. Thriving
