PresentationWith the upgrade of BW, you will lose your bookmarks when the current system is retired. During this live session, Art will demonstrate how to locate the parameters of your current BW bookmarks and then show you how to recreate them in Analysis. During Art’s presentation, your phone will be muted.

Q&AAfter the presentation, we’ll hold a Q&A session. We’ll open up the phone lines, and you’ll be able to ask questions. Art will answer as many of your questions as time allows.

Describe what will happen to your current BW bookmarksDemonstrate how to locate the parameters of your current

BW bookmarksDemonstrate how to recreate bookmarks (now called

favorites) using those parameters in Analysis

What Will Happen to BW Bookmarks?

Bookmarks in BW will not transfer to Analysis.They will be gone forever

BW will run parallel to Analysis for 90 days after your scheduled training wave begins.

Use this time to retrieve your old bookmarks and recreate them in Analysis

BW Report Center

Click the “BW Report Center” tab from the SAP Portal

Find one of your bookmarks and execute it

Click the Data Analysis tab

If possible, take a screenshot of the layout and print it out

for reference

If possible, take a screenshot and print it out for reference

Make note of the Query Description in the Information on

Query box

Click the Enterprise Reporting tab

Click Open Analysis from the BW News page

Find an Analysis WorkspaceOpen the workspace with the same query description as

your bookmark

You can enter part of the query description in the search to

locate it

The Prompts screen will display

On the printout of the bookmark, take note of the Variable

Values

If you do not know the value for the variable, use the

member selector box to pick it from the available options

Highlight the value and Click OK

Tip – Make sure the # of rows matches between the 2 reports

Retrieving FavoritesWorkspaces can be retrieved from a users favorites area

Select the My Documents tab My Documents

Double-click a workspace to open it

Complete Labor Distribution

Run the Bookmark in BW and printout the Info tab and Query LayoutMake note of the query description

Locate that workspace in Analysis and execute it

Make note of the variable values form the BW bookmark

Enter those variable values into the prompt screen in AnalysisYou may need to use the member selector to search for the values if you don’t know themClick the member selector button next to the prompt

Type part of the description for the Org UnitClick the down arrow next to the binoculars to search by Text

Complete Labor DistributionClick the binoculars to perform the searchSelect the desired org unit and click OK

Repeat the process for all values

Once all values are entered, click the Save prompt values with workspace check box Click OK to execute the workspace

Make note of the dynamic filter values from the bookmark

Add those filters to the Analysis workspace

Add, remove or reorder columns in Analysis to match the bookmarkUse Auto Update to make the process faster

Adjust any column formatting or totals to match the bookmark and Analysis workspace

Verify your reports matchUse the number of rows or the totals on the report

Save the workspace to your favoritesYou can also send it to others in your group
