6.18 Trouble-shootinga. The terminal, after initial installation, fails to connect to the server, and the server displays "offline".

Page 16: Sku.201734

Please check the terminal's installation:1) Check whether the main power line is connected correctly; Note: Do not

connect it to the vehicle's internal control line.2) Check whether the SIM card is inserted correctly; please refer to the

installation instructions.3) Check the status of LED indicator; when working normally, the red power

indicator flashes 0.3s after every 2s; the yellow GSM indicator flashes 0.3s after every 2s; the blue GPS indictor flashes 0.3s after every 2s.

4) Check whether the GPS positioning is ready; if not, please make the initial positioning at an open area outdoors.b. The server displays the terminal in an offline state. First inspect whether the 3 indicators are working normally; if the indicators’ view is obstructed, first check the state of the SIM card, as shown below:

1) Dial the SIM card number of the terminal to check whether the phone connection is correct.

2) Check whether there is GSM network signal, as in the underground parking.3) Inspect whether the disconnection is an isolated case and determine whether

it is a fault on the part of the network operator.4) Check whether SIM card subscriber needs top-up recharge.5) Check whether the GPRS service is canceled (offline at last day of the

month).6) Inquire the parameter setting. Check the serial number of the terminal and

check whether interval time of the GPRS transmission is correct.c. If the GPS function of the terminal is activated, and yet fails to locate, please check whether the terminal is installed according to the following requirements:

1) When installing the terminal, the GPS antenna shall face skywards.2) No electromagnetic wave-absorbing substances (e.g. metal) shall be allowed

above the terminal’s installed position; it shall be especially noted that there is no explosion-proof, heat-insulating membrane on the windshield above the terminal’s position, since the membrane contains high amount of metal elements which may absorb high-frequency electromagnetic wave and reduce the signal intensity, leading to poor accuracy of positioning and, even worse, to failure of positioning.d. If there is poor GPS signal (surrounding high-rises blocking GPS signal), please drive the vehicle to an open area for location. Generally, initial location may take 1-2 minutes.e. If the GSM signal receipt is working abnormally, please check whether the SIM card in the terminal is inserted correctly; or drive to a place with GSM signal coverage, since the signal may not cover certain areas (e.g. underground parking).
