• SKIN BANK-Facility where the skin is processed and stored.
• Skin donation-only from eligible deceased donor
• Processed as per international protocols
• Can be stored ~ 4-80 Celsius in 85% liquid glycerol up to 5 years

• Leads to infection, which is fatal• Replace dead burnt skin with

• Annual burns incidence in India is 6-7 mil• Majority of the extensively burnt patients die• Nearly 1.5 lakh get crippled, require multiple
surgeries and prolonged rehabilitation• 70% are in the productive age of 15-40 yrs• 90% belong to poor socio-economic strata• 1 burn patient require skin from 2 donors• Need 2000 SKIN DONATIONS• We only get 200 per year!!
