Restoring a floor from start to finish. Our smaller floor grinders are convenient and easy to use, even for non-professionals making it easy to obtain successful results, if you follow the below step-by-step instructions. Choose the grinder – PG 280 or PG 400 – best suited to the size of the surface area you will be working with and the type of power (single phase or 3-phase) available. The type of tool you will need is determined by the hardness of the concrete floor and the old covering.

Instructions:1. Fit handlebars, dust guard and vacuum hose according to the

instructions in the accompanying manual. 2. Fit the first set of diamond tools to the tool attachment under the

machine. Use a hammer to knock the tools into place.3. Start the dust collector. Position the grinder with the tools down on

the concrete surface where you want to start grinding. Allow for a bit of room around the grinder when starting to then be able to comfortably move the machine into tighter areas such as the corners.

4. Once started, work the grinder in a small circular motion. Move it carefully forwards, whilst making small swinging movements to get up close to walls and corners. This prevents you “cutting in” or making large grinding marks in the concrete.

5. Continue moving forwards until you have ground the entire edge of the area, e.g. to an opposite corner. Go as far into the corner as you can. Then turn around (see image below). Be sure to always keep the grinder moving in a circular motion, even when getting in to corners.

6. Continue grinding a row at a time, with a few centimeters overlap each time, until you have finished the entire surface.

7. Turn off the machine and continue to work the grinder in a circular motion till the motor comes to a complete stop, then turn of the dust collector. Lay the machine down so that the tools are raised off the floor. Remove the plug from the power supply.

8. Using a pair of gloves and hammer, remove the first cut coarse grit tools and replace them with the less coarse second cut tools. Then continue the grinding process again as outlined from step 1.

The foldable construction makes the machine easy to transport.

Be sure to always keep the grinder moving in a circular motion, even when getting in to corners.

Husqvarna’s Redi Lock™ system tools are easy to switch, using only a small hammer.
