Hinge, Pivot, and Ball-and-socket
• The ball and socket joints at the shoulder and hip. Provide more range of movement then any other join.
• Hinge joint at the knees, elbows, and fingers. The body’s largest joint in the knee
• Pivot joint at the neck and forearms. Allow rotation around the axis.
How it works with other systems
• Muscular system- must be attached to something at either end to give them support
• Couldn’t find any more.
Fun facts
• The spine, which runs down the center of the back, allows the body to bend.
• Bones are like sponges with lots of air, this makes bones very strong, but very light.
• The skull, which contains the brain and protects it, is made up of different bones which grows together during childhood
• The hands are made up of different bones which allow a huge variety of movement.
