    Purpose Thank you for choosing WiMAX radio network system of ZTE Cor-poration!

    ZXSDR B8200 W100 is the WiMAX baseband pool of the WiMAXseries products. ZXSDR B8200 W100 and RRU form a completeBS, implementing radio transmission of the covered area, control-ling radio channels and communicating with the AGW.

    ZXSDR B8200 W100 mainly implements channel processing. Thismanual introduces data configuration for commissioning ZXSDRB8200 W100.

    The intended audience of this manual are

    Typical ConfigurationZXSDR B8200 W100 can be configured with one or two PMs, oneSA, one or two CCs, one to three XBPs and one FA.

    Figure 1 illustrates the typical configuration of ZXSDR B8200W100.

    Connection Mode betweenZXSDR B8200 W100 andAGWZXSDR B8200 W100 and AGW are connected through the R6 in-terface. Physically, E1/T1 and GE Ethernet interface are adoptedfor the connection.

    Figure 3 shows the networking mode and Table 2describe themeanings of modules.

    Configuring Global Parameters

    Short Description Global Parameters take effect for all nodes in the office that canbe used by different BTSs in different districts.

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    Context Global Parameters Configuration include:

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view, as shown in Figure 6.

    2. Click the OMM_WiMAX node, and the Global ParametersConfiguration window is displayed in the right pane, as shownin Figure 7.

    Note:

    Buttons on Toolbar in Global Parameters Configuration win-dow is disabled as a default status. Click button to enablethe buttons and menu if you are ready to do the configuration.

    3. Configure AGW.

    In the enabled Global Parameters Configuration window,select AGW tab. Click button or right-click a null data recordand select Add to display the Add AGW dialog box as shownin Figure 8.

    Set AGW ID, Alias, AGW IP, AGW Profile and click OK toadd a AGW record.

    Note:

    After the AGW records are added, the parameters take ef-fect for all nodes in the office. The BTS in the districts adopta global AGW through the AGW tab of segment. A BTS canadopt multiple Base Transceiver Station and you can setthe priorities. A maximum of 32 AGWs can be added.

    If not necessary, it is recommended that R6 shake param-eters, NGW version be set to the given default value.

    4. Configure Downlink Frequency.

    In the enabled Global Parameters Configuration window,select Downlink Frequency tab. Click button or right-clicka null data record and select Add to display the Add DownlinkFrequency dialog box as shown in Figure 9.

    According to your planning, set Downlink Frequency andclick OK to add a Downlink Frequency record. More than onerecord can be added.

    Note:

    You can select a downlink frequency record to a carrier whendoing radio configuration.

    5. Configure Foreign BS.

    In the enabled Global Parameters Configuration window,select Foreign BS tab. Click button or right-click a null datarecord and select Add to display the Add Foreign BS dialogbox as shown in Figure 10.

    According to the information of foreign BS, finish the parame-ters. And BS ID, BS Alias, Downlink frequency is required.Click OK to add a Foreign BS record. More than one record canbe added.

    6. Configure Paging Group.

    In the enabled Global Parameters Configuration window,select Paging Group tab. Click button or right-click a nulldata record and select Add to display the Add Paging Groupdialog box as shown in Figure 11.

    Set Paging group ID,MAC hash skip threshold, Responsewindow and click OK to add a Paging Group.

    Note:

    MAC hash skip threshold indicate the maximum of MSsin the consecutive foreign BS broadcast messages. Validvalue range is 0 ~ 255, use default value is recommended.

    Value of Response window indicate beginning position ofthe next response frame of MS after received the broadcastmassages. Valid value range is 5~ 255, use default valueis recommended.

    You can select the Paging Group that a segment is belongto in the radio configuration.

    7. Configure OMC IP.

    In the enabled Global Parameters Configuration window,select OMC IP tab. Click button or right-click a null datarecord and select Add to display the Add OMC-IP dialog boxas shown in Figure 12.

    Select a OMCIP ID from the drop-down list and set OMC IPto add a OMC IP.

    Note:

    Indicate a IP address of OMC which OMM report to.

    Result Configured global parameters records will shown in each tabs andcan be modified or deleted.

    Adding a B8200

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. Right-ClickOMM_WiMAX node and select Add District to dis-play a Add District dialog box as shown in Figure 13.

    3. Set Alias and click OK to create a district node.

    4. In the Configuration Management view, expand the config-uration tree in the left pane. Select the created District node,right-click and choose Add WBTS > Add SDR to display theAdd BTS dialog box, as shown in Figure 14.

    5. In the Add BTS dialog box, according to your planning, selecta system ID, set BTS type to B8200, set System alias andExtended attribute, and then click OK.

    Note:

    The system ID uniquely identifies an B8200. The valid rangeis 2048~4499.

    Result After you add a B8200 NE, the B8200 node is displayed under theDistrict node.

    Configuring the BBU BasicInformation

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    The B8200 NE must be created.

    Steps 1. Click Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. In the left pane of the Configuration Management, expandthe configuration tree to the Physical Configuration node un-der the B8200. The Physical Configuration window is dis-played in the right pane, as shown in Figure 15.

    3. Configure Physical Parameter.

    Click the Physical Parameter tab, set the local time zone andwhether to adopt the Daylight Saving Time (DST).

    4. Configure CPU Overload Threshold.

    Select CPUOverload Threshold tab and the record list of CPUoverload threshold for each board will be shown. Double-Clicka Record or Right-Click and select Modify to define the valuesfor your own customized configuration as shown in Figure 16.

    Note:

    CPU Overload Threshold record list showed the records for theboards already added. Low threshold value, High thresholdvalue, Reset temperature value is setting to 80%, 90%, 100as default. If the BBU boards havent added yet the thresholdlist would got no records.

    5. Configure Static Route.

    Select Static Route tab. Click button or right-click a nulldata record and select Add to display the Add Static Routedialog box as shown in Figure 17.

    According to the network plan, set Destination subnet, Sub-net mask, Next hop as shown in Table 3. Click OK to add astatic route. More than one static route can be added.

    6. Configure OMC VLAN.

    Select OMC VLAN tab as shown in Figure 18.

    OMC VLAN is used to divide the network management mes-sage and the service message. After enabled this functionfrom OMC uplink VLAN tag enable drop-down list, uplinkmessages will add a VLAN ID field which indicated in the OMCVLAN ID. The valid range of VLAN ID is 11 ~ 4095. Also,you can set the 802.1p priority in OMC VLAN priority. Forexample, if OMC VLAN priority is setting to a small number,messages from this VLAN ID port will be put into a low priorityqueue.

    Caution:

    It is cautious to modify OMC VLAN configuration. The modifi-cation will cause a reset of MAC. Saving the configuration datain advance is recommended.

    Adding a BBU Rack

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    The B8200 NE must be created.

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. In the left pane of the Configuration Management view, ex-pand the configuration tree and select the Physical Configu-ration node under the B8200 node.

    3. Right-click the Physical Configuration node and choose AddBBU Rack to display the Add B8200 W100 Rack dialog box,as shown in Figure 19.

    4. Set Rack type, Installation mode and then click OK to adda BBU rack.

    Result After you add a B8200 rack, the BBU Rack node is displayed underthe Physical Configuration node of the B8200 on the configura-tion tree.

    Adding Boards

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    The B8200 rack must be created.

    Context ZXSDR B8200 W100 supports two types of module height: full-height and half-height. Full-height modules include CC and XBP.Half-height modules include PM, SA, and SE. A typical configura-tion is used here to illustrate the configuration process.

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. In the Configuration Management view, expand the config-uration tree, and then select the B8200, Physical Configu-ration and required BBU rack node.

    3. On the B8200 W100 rack that is displayed in the right pane,add boards.

    i. On the required slot, right-click and choose Add Board,and then select the required board type, as shown in Figure20.

    ii. Add the other boards until all the required boards areadded.

    Note:

    Different color of boards means different configuration status.

    Configuring the CC Work Mode

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    B8200 Rack and CCA board must be created.

    Context CC Work Mode is the duplex mode of the BTS network port whichincluding Network auto adapt/network auto negotiationmode (default value) and forcedly full duplex mode.

    In Network auto adapt/network auto negotiation mode, CCwill consult with the opposite before establish a duplex mode; inforcedly full duplex mode, CC will be forced to full duplex modein communication sessions.

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. In the Configuration Management view, expand the config-uration tree, and then select the B8200, Physical Configu-ration and required BBU rack node.

    3. On the B8200 W100 rack that is displayed in the right pane,right-click the CCA board and select Configure Work Modeand the Configure Work Mode dialog box will display asshown in Figure 22.

    4. Select the mode of the network interface from theWorkmodedrop-down list.

    Result Changed work mode will take effect from the next net session.

    Configuring the XBP Work Mode

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    B8200 Rack and XBP board must be created.

    Context XBP Work Mode is the duplex mode of the R6 port which includingNetwork auto adapt/network auto negotiationmode (defaultvalue) and forcedly full duplex mode.

    In Network auto adapt/network auto negotiationmode, XBPwill consult with the opposite before establish a duplex mode; inforcedly full duplexmode, XBP will be forced to full duplex modein communication sessions.

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. In the Configuration Management view, expand the config-uration tree, and then select the B8200, Physical Configu-ration and required BBU rack node.

    3. On the B8200 W100 rack that is displayed in the right pane,right-click the XBP board and select Configure Work Modeand the Configure Work Mode dialog box will display asshown in Figure 23.

    4. Select work mode of the R6 interface from the Work Modedrop-down list

    Configuring the Receivable Mode onCC

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    B8200 Rack and CCA board must be created.

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. In the Configuration Management view, expand the config-uration tree, and then select the B8200, Physical Configu-ration and required BBU rack node.

    3. On the B8200 W100 rack that is displayed in the right pane,right-click the CCA board and select Configure ReceivableMode and the Configure Receivable Mode dialog box willdisplay as shown in Figure 24.

    4. Select the mode of the antenna from the Work mode drop-down list.

    3. Right-click the XBP board and choose Configure Connectionbetween BBU and RRU to display the Configure Port Linkdialog box, as shown in Figure 28.

    5. According to your planning, select the RRU ID from RRU sub-system number drop-down list and its port which will be con-nected to the XBP board from the RRU port drop-down list,then click OK to finish the settings and return to the rack view.

    Configuring the QoS Priority for theR6 Port

    Prerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configurationrights.

    The B8200 NE must be created.

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. Select Radio Configuration node and click in the RadioParameter window to save the current parameter as a defaultof Global Parameter so that other tabs will change status toedit enabled.

    3. Signal Priority Configuration.

    Select R6 Signal Priority tab as shown in Figure 32.

    Configuring a Cell

    2. In the Configuration Management view, expand the config-uration tree in the left pane, and then choose the Cell nodeunder the Radio Configuration node of the B8200.

    3. Right-click the cell node and choose Add Carrier,and the Car-rier window is displayed in the right pane, as shown in Figure36.

    If the downlink frequency is not configured before adding acarrier, a prompt message is displayed and the configurationdialog box is displayed.

    4. In the Carrier window, set the parameters, or click to acceptthe default settings. Then, click to save the settings.

    Configuring a Segment

    The BBU and RRU physical configuration must be completed.

    At least one cell and carrier must be configured.

    Steps 1. Select Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. In the configuration management view, expand the configura-tion tree in the left pane, and then choose the Carrier node un-der the Radio Configuration node of the B8200. Right-clickthe carrier node and choose Add Segment, and the Segmentwindow is displayed in the right pane, as shown in Figure 37.

    3. Configure Segment tab.

    In Segment tab, set Operator ID, BS ID, BS Alias. If thereare more than one segments under a carrier, Preamble index,DL PUSC used subchannel bitmap parameters setting arealso required. Click to save settings.

    Note:

    You should finish the basic configuration in segment taband click to save it or you will not able to configure inother tabs because of losing basic parameters.

    Preamble index and DL PUSC used subchannel bitmapof different segments under one carrier can not be thesame.

    There is a restriction between Preamble index and Seg-ment ID For 1024 FFT, the restriction show like followingFigure 38. It is recommended that use the default value ofsystem for different segment.

    DL PUSC used subchannel bitmap indicate the subchan-nel group which is used by a segment. A new segment willuse all the subchannel bitmaps as default. But in multi-seg-ment situation, 3 segments for example, assign subchannelbitmap to each segment is necessary. It is recommendedthat segment 0 use (bit0) Group #0 and (bit1) Group#1; segment 1 use (bit2) Group #2 and (bit3) Group#3; segment 2 use (bit4) Group #4 and (bit5) Group#5.

    4. Apply AGW.

    In AGW tab, click button or right-click a null data recordand select Add, Add AGW dialog box will display as shown inFigure 39.

    Select a AGW record and click OK to apply it to segment. Youcan apply more than one AGW to one segment using settingdifferent priority from the drop-down list.

    Note:

    In radio configuration, when a global AGW under a segmentis added, deleted or modified, the AGW record takes effectfor the other segment under the same BTS. This ensuresthat the AGW records of each segment are the same.

    For a segment, up to 4 AGW records can be added.

    5. Configure Idle.

    In Idle tab, click button or right-click a null data recordand select Add, Add Paging Group dialog box will display asshown in Figure 40.

    Managing the BTS StatusPrerequisites You must have logged in to the OMC and have the configuration

    rights.

    The District node must exist.

    The BTS node must exist.

    Context Through this operation, you can query and modify the commis-sioning status and cutover status easily.

    A new BTS is in the configuring status by default. In this case,the IP link cannot be set up between the OMC and BTS, and thedata synchronization operation is not allowed. The IP link canbe set up (after BTS external IP address is configured) and datasynchronization and saving can be performed only after the BTScommissioning status is set to integrated or commercial. The traf-fic volume of new BTSs is usually not large, but the traffic volumeof cutover BTSs is usually very large, so the two statuses need tobe distinguished. In this way, the maintenance personnel can payattention to the two types of BTSs differently.

    Steps 1. Choose Views > Configuration Management to display theConfiguration Management view.

    2. In the Configuration Management view, expand the config-uration tree to the District node, and the System Configu-ration window is displayed in the right pane.

    3. Click the NE Status tab, as shown in Figure 41.

    2. In the Configuration Management view, right-click theOMM_WiMAX node on the configuration tree, and thenchoose Synchronize Data to display the Data Synchroniza-tion window, as shown in Figure 44.
