Introduction:-Sixth Sense is a tool that connects the physical world with

the world of data.

The Sixth Sense covers the phenomenon of: 1. Telepathy 2. Precognition 3. Retro Cognition 4. psychometric

Origin:- The sixth sense technology was developed

by Pranav Mistry at Massachusetts

Institute of Technology (MIT).

He has been awarded 2009 invention

award by Popular science.

They created a device that can turn any

surface into a touch-screen for computer,

controlled by simple hand gestures.

Components:- The hardware components are coupled in a pendant like mobile wearable device.

Camera

Projector

Mirror

Mobile components

Colored Markers

CAMERA

Captures an object in view and tracks the user’s hand gestures

It sends the data to Smart Phone

It acts as a digital eye, connecting you to the world of digital information

Page 7: Sixth sense technology

PROJECTOR

The projector projects visual information enabling surfaces and physical objects to be used as interfaces

The project itself contains a battery inside, with 3 hours of battery life

A tiny LED projector displays data sent from the smart phone on any surface in view-object,wall or person

Page 8: Sixth sense technology

MIRROR

MIRROR

• The usage of the mirror is significant as the projector dangles pointing downwards from the neck

SMART PHONE

• A web-enabled Smart phone in the user’s pocket processes the video data• Other software searches the web and interprets the hand gestures

COLOR MARKERS

It is at the tip of the user’s fingers

Marking the user’s fingers with red, yellow, green and blue taps helps the webcam recognize gestures

The movements and arrangements of these makers are interpreted into gestures that acts a interaction instructions for the projected application interface

Advantages:- It is so light ,small and simple to use

We can accesses our work from any place.

We can take photos and organize them on any floor.

Read books easily

Page 17: Sixth sense technology

Disadvantages:- The projector runs on batteries for power where regularly

have to replace.

we have to give correct instructions .
