A6.4 Pelatihan pengisian CNG (Catatan tambahan)
A6.4 CNG Refuelling Training (Supplementary
Notes)
[Supplementary notes to support CNG Refuelling Training Sign‐off document]
Gambaran Umum
Gas alam digunakan untuk kendaraan sama saja
dengan gas yang digunakan di rumah tangga
guna memasak. Gas disalurkan dari gas pipa
dan dikompresi ke tekanan sangat tinggi sekitar
250 Bar (25 Mpa), kemudian disimpan di
silinder‐silinder penyimpan. CNG disalurkan ke
kendaraan melalui rakitan selang dan katup
pengisian.
Gas Alam
Gas alam adalah campuran unsur gas
hidrokarbon yang sangat mudah terbakar,
biasanta didapat dari hasil pengeboran dalam
di bebatuan didalam tanah. Gas alam adalah
bahan bakar fosil dengan kandungan utama
metana, dan sejumlah kecil gas hidrokarbon
spereti etana, propana, butana dan pentana.
Gas yang tidak terbakar sepert nitrogen, karbon
dioksida (CO2) dan belerang. Gas alam adalah
terbersih jika dibakar, memproduksi CO2 lebih
rendah daripada minyak atau batubara dan
jumlah NOx yang snagat kecil.
Gas alam, dalam bentuk murni tidak berbau,
tidak berwarna, dan tidak dapat dirasa. Maka
dari itu, untuk alasan keselamatan pembau
ditambahkan agar mudah dideteksi jika terjadi
kebocoran. Gas alam lebih ringan dibanding
udara (berat jenis gas alam sekitar 0,60
tergantung dari komposisi gas dibanding udara
1,00). Hal demikian berarti gas alam mudah
terbang ke udara jika bocor atau lepas. Sifat
Overview
Natural gas use as vehicle is fuel is the same gas
used for cooking in domestic households. The
installation draws natural gas from the
reticulated gas main pipes and compresses it to
very high pressure approximately 250 Bar (25
MPa), which is then stored in the storage
cylinders. CNG is dispensed through the
refuelling hose and valve arrangement into the
vehicle cylinder.
Natural gas
Natural gas is a combustible, gaseous mixture
of hydrocarbon compounds, usually found in
deep underground reservoirs formed by porous
rock. Natural gas is a fossil fuel with methane
as the predominant constituent, and smaller
amounts other gaseous hydrocarbons: ethane,
propane, butane and pentane. The inert gases
present in small amounts are nitrogen,
compounds of carbon (CO2) and sulphur. It is
the cleanest burning fossil fuel, producing less
CO2 than oil or coal, and only small amounts of
nitrogen oxides.
Natural gas, in its pure state, is odourless,
colourless, and tasteless. However, for safety
reasons, odorant with a distinctive smell is
added, so that any leak can be easily detected.
The gas is lighter than air (specific gravity of
natural gas is approximately 0.60 – depending
on the gas composition ‐ with reference to air
taken as 1). This means that natural gas will rise
if escaping, thus dissipating from the site of a
leak. This important characteristic makes
natural gas safer than most fuels.
At normal temperatures natural gas remains
gaseous even when very heavily compressed.
However, it can be liquidised at cryogenic
(extremely cold) temperature ‐ 162°C.
18
‐ 162°C. Gas alam tidak ada komponen racun,
jadi tidak terdapat akibat terhadap kesehatan
dalam menangani bahan bakar ini. Dalam
konsentrasi yang tinggi menyebabkan . . . . dan
dihindari. Semua upaya pencegahan harus
dilakukan guna mencegah terjadinya api
terbuka atau rokok dalam jarak 3 meter dari
area pengisian, kompresor dan silinder
penyimpan gas.
“Kerja Panas” (pengelasan, pemotongan
dengan oksigen, pemasangan dengan oksigen,
penggridaan) dalam area instalasi atau berjarak
3 meter dari instalasi dapat dikerjakan setelah
mendapat ijin Kerja Panas.
Sistem kompresor dan penyimpan gas
Kompresor berfungsi menarik dari pipa gas dan
meng kompresi gas alam sampai tekanan
sangat tinggi kemudian dialirkan ke silinder
penyimpan.
Pengisian
Pengisian CNG ke kendaraan yaitu mengalirkan
gas dari silinder penyimpanan ke kendaraan.
Katup pengisian akan mengendalikan aliran
pengisian ke silinder di kendaraan. Jumlah
aliran akan menurun setelah mendekati
tekanan yang diijinkan pada silinder kendaraan.
Natural gas does not contain any toxic
component; therefore there is no health hazard
in handling of the fuel. Heavy concentrations,
however, can cause drowsiness or may act as
an asphyxiant. There is no evidence that
exposure to natural gas causes adverse health
effects but such exposure should be minimised.
For more detail refer to CNG Material Safety
Data Sheet.
Hazards of CNG fuel
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is under very
high pressure (up to 300 Bar atau 30 MPa in the
station gas storage) and if a finger or hand over
placed over a gas leak, the gas may penetrate
the skin.
Natural gas is flammable and therefore the
prevention of any source of ignition is essential
in the vicinity of any gas escape or leak. All
precautions should be taken to prevent a naked
flame or smoking within 3 metres of the
refuelling area, the compressor and gas storage
area.
"Hot Work" (welding, oxy‐cutting, oxy‐heating,
grinding,) shall be carried out on any part of the
installation or within 3 metres of any part of
the installation ONLY IF a hot work permit has
been obtained.
Gas compressor and gas storage system
The compressor is the device used to draw
natural gas from the gas main pipe, compress it
to a very high pressure and then pump it into
storage cylinders.
Refuelling
In refuelling a CNG vehicle, gas flows from the
station gas storage to the vehicle. The
refuelling valve controls the flow of gas to the
vehicle cylinder. The gas flow decreases as the
pressure inside the cylinder gets closer to the
allowable fill pressure.
19
Prosedur Pengisian
Prosedur pengisian CNG (instruksi)
dipanpang di dispencer.
Parkir kendaraan dan aktifkan rem tangan.
Matikan mesin dan tidak merokok.
Semua penumpang wajib meninggalkan
kendaraan.
Selama pengisian, mesin kendaraan tidak
boleh dihidupkan.
Tidak boleh ada sumber api dalam jarak 3
meter dari area pengisian.
Hand phone / telepin genggam harus
dimatikan selama pengisian
Periksa label sertifikat pada silinder
penyimpanan kendaraan dan memastkan
resertifikasi berikutkan tidak terlambat.
Yakinkan katup isolasi pada selang pengisian
pada posisi ON.
Lepaskan penutu debu pada receptacle CNG
di kendaraan.
Periksa dengan meraba kerusakan pada
receptacle terhadap perubahan bentuk.
Jika tidak ditemui kerusakan pada
receptacle, sambung nosel ke receptacle.
Yakinkan nosel dengan receptacle
tersambung secara aman.
Pelan‐pelan katup selang pengisi diputar
pada posisi FILL
Sementara selang pengisi sedang
bertekanan, semua oarang harus menjauh
setidaknya berjarak sepanjang selang
pengisi.
CNG tekanan tinggi mengalir lewat selang
pengisi ditandai dengan suara tinggi. Suara
berkurang seiring penuhnya silinder
kendaraan dan berhenti jika pengisian
selesai.
Ketiga aliran berhenti pelan‐pelan putar
katup selang ke posisi VENT.
Gas diantara katup dan kopling koneksi
akan dilepas ke venting dan koneksi kopling
dapat dilepas.
Refuelling procedures
CNG refuelling procedures (instructions) are
displayed on the fuel dispenser
Park vehicle and put on hand brake. Stop
Engine ‐ No Smoking
All occupants should leave the vehicle
During vehicle refuelling, the vehicle engine
should not be running
No source of ignition be within 3 metres of
refuelling area
Mobile phones must be switched off while
refuelling
Check vehicle cylinder periodic
recertification label to confirm that the next
due date for recertification has not passed.
Ensure isolating valve on the fuel dispenser
is in ON position
Remove the dust cap from the vehicle
refuelling receptacle.
Use a finger to detect damage or
deformation on the receptacle.
If no deformation or damage is observed on
the receptacle, connect the refuelling hose
nozzle to the vehicle refuelling receptacle.
Ensure that connection is securely engaged.
Slowly turn filling valve FILL position.
All persons must stay at least the length of
the refuelling hose away from the dispenser
while the hose is under pressure.
High pressure gas flows through the
refuelling connection with an audible
'hissing' noise. The noise is reduced as the
cylinder is close to full and stops when the
refuelling is completed.
When the flow stops slowly turn the
refuelling hose valve to VENT position.
The pressurised gas between the filling
valve and coupling connections will be
vented through the vent line and the
coupling connections will be released.
20
Putar katup isolasi selang pengisi (di sisi
dispencer) ke posisi OFF.
Lepaskan selang pengisi dari kendaraan.
Kembalikan selang pengisi ke tempatnya di
dispencer.
Pasang kembali penutup debu di receptacle
di kendaraan.
Kopling‐Safety‐Pemutus Selang Pengisi
Kopling‐safety‐pemutus selang pengisi didesain
untuk meminimalkan kerusakan pada rakitan
selang pengisi jika terjadi kendaraan berjalan
sementara selang pengisi masih terhubung.
Dengan sedikit gaya tangensial pada selang
pengisi, kopling terlepas yang menimbulkan
suara keras aliran. Terpisahnya kopling akan
menutup sendiri aliran dan tidak terjadi
pelepasan gas ke atmosfir. Selang pengisi tetap
terpasang pada receptacle kendaraan.
Dengan skenario ini maka, prosedur yang aman
untuk melepas selang pengisi adalah mencari
dan menutup katup silinder CNG pada
kendaraan; jalankan mesin dengan bahan bakar
gas sampai mesin berhenti. Setelah gas
keluar/habis maka selang pengisi dapat dilepas
dari kendaraan.
Jangan berusaha menyambung kembali selang
ke dispencer secara langsung. Laporkan hal ini
ke Manajer Stasiun untuk diperbaiki.
Turn the refuelling hose isolating valve (on
the side of the dispenser) to OFF position.
Disconnect the refuelling hose from the
vehicle.
Return the refuelling hose to holder on the
fuel dispenser.
Replace the dust cap on the refuelling
receptacle.
Refuelling Hose Safety Breakaway Coupling
The refuelling hose safety breakaway coupling is
a design feature to minimise damage to the
hose and the fuel dispenser in the event that
the vehicle is driven away with the refuelling
hose still connected.
With a minimal tangential force on the
refuelling hose, the breakaway coupling
separates producing a loud audible blow. The
separated couplings are self sealing and will not
permit gas release. The refuelling hose will
remain coupled to vehicle.
Under this scenario, a safe procedure to detach
the refuelling hose from the vehicle is to locate
and close the CNG cylinder(s) valve on the
vehicle; run the engine on gas until the engine
stalls. This will exhaust gas pressure in the
refuelling line the hose coupling from the
vehicle can be disconnected
Do not attempt to reconnect the hoses to the
fuel dispenser. Report to the refuelling station
Manager for repair.
