Background• Open surgery: excellent and durable results for aorto-iliac occlusive disease• Endovascular: high technical success and low complications rates

è Role of covered stents to increase mid and long-term patency?

• Material and Methods• Retrospective analysis of prospective data retrieved from 1

center January 2013 - September 2015 • All consecutive patients with aorto-iliac occlusive disease• Endpoints:

o patency rateso postoperative morbidity o re-interventions

Results• 31 patients:

o Mean age 64.5 years (range 50-86)o H:F : 5:26

• Technical success: 100%• No death• Characteristics of stents:

• N = 52• Mean diameter 9.3 mm• Mean length: 49.9 mm

Conclusion:The endovascular treatment of aorto-iliac occlusive disease using Advanta V12 stents is a safe and useful strategy. It seems to offer satisfactory results in term of immediate success and mid-term patency rates. It could be a valid alternative to open surgery but larger trials and registries are needed to draw definitive conclusions..
