North South Line (NS):

• First MRT line in Singapore• Runs with 25 stations• Extends to 44 km• Managed by SMRT Corporation• Binds northern part and southern

East West Line (EW)

• 2nd MRT line in Singapore• 31 stations are in operation• Administered by SMRT

North East Line (NEL)

the north-eastern part• World’s 2nd longest fully

underground line

Circle Line (CCL)

• Central line linking all the radial lines

• Functions 31 stations everyday• Monitor by SBS transit• Extends around 35.7 km long line• The world’s longest completely

automatic metro line• Runs without driver• Underground metro railway

system

• Expansions of all the 4 lines are under construction

• Expects the daily ridership of 4.6 millions in 2020

• Extension will bring the MRT to 278 km by 2020

• Planned a railway network of 540 km by 2050

• Circle line will extend to Marian Bay by 2012

• Downtown line, Thomson line and Eastern region line are expect to finish by 2013, 2018 & 2020 respectively.
