PUBLIC CONSULTATION Masterplan WIDER SETTLEMENT BENEFITS Large new areas of employment have been granted planning consent adjacent to the A1 Blyth roundabout. Former UK Coal Head Office is being redeveloped for additional employment development. FARRRS Link Road at Rossington has been opened which has helped reduce commuter traffic to the A1 at Blyth. Serlby Park Academy has constructed a new school. Town Hall has been extended and modernised. New Police Station. Asda and Aldi have both opened new supermarkets in Harworth. Mining Memorial has been constructed. New public community events area adjacent to the Town Hall is under construction. MASTERPLAN BENEFITS The new masterplan reflects the changes to Harworth and Bircotes and the colliery site since the original planning consent was granted in 2011. The total number of new homes on the site will be approximately 1500 (Phase 1-315 homes and Phase 2 up to 1200 new homes) • A new primary school, • Elderly housing, • Pub/restaurant Extensive open space and play areas.
