She is also concerned with the wel- fare and quality of life for herself and fellow seniors in Takoma Park. What makes Susan dif- ferent from the average senior is that she doesn't just complain about hersituation, she does some- thing about it. She helps Georgia Ellard, Activites Coordinator, and Susan Leitch, an active resident of Franklin Apts. in Ta- koma Park. The Mayorjoined seniors for a lively discussion of the A special guest visited Franklin Apartment’s ―Potluck Luncheon‖ on May 19, 2011. Takoma Park’s Mayor Bruce Williams, responded to a special invitation from matters concerning the residents, and enjoyed a delicious buffet of home- made entrees and side dishes. Councilperson Terry Seamens and his lovely wife Joyce were also in attendance, and helped coordinate and set up the event. Seniors were thrilled for the opportu- nity to voice their con- cerns. They also ex- pressed their appreciation for city sponsored recrea- tion activities and trans- portation. ―Bone Builders‖ consists of three parts: balance exercises,
weight training and discussion concerning diet, safety and
exercise. This program, in partnership with Montgomery
County, uses trained RSVP volunteers supervised by a certi-

The Senior Room is located on the second floor of the Takoma Park Community Center Between the Libraryand the Computer Center. The Senior Room is a drop-in facility, and is open to all people ages 55 and older.Classes are held at various times throughout the week. Computers are available in the room for senior useonly. Computer assistance is available in room ―A‖ only. Please sign the log-in book upon entering the Senior Room. Food and drinks are not permitted in the Senior Room except for City of Takoma Park events.
