marine environment will tell you.

Marine coatings are recognised as a crucial factor in the service life and operational profitability

of most forms of shipping and have become an important consideration from the newbuilding

design stages onwards. Specified before shipbuilding commences, coatings systems are now

rightly seen as an essential element of the vessels physical integrity.

Success or failure of coatings in service can influence the profitability rate at which a ship

operates. Specifiers have to carefully consider the coating choices needed for each specific

vessel area, taking into account factors such as service conditions (immersed, non-immersed,

exposed, etc). as well as substrate type, (shop primer, steel, aluminium, etc)

Use it to touch up weld seams and damage to epoxy coatings during construction and as the

primer coat under virtually any epoxy, alkyd, chlorinated rubber, vinyl or polyurethane system.
