Page 11: Siena College Faculty Meeting September 14, 2009.

Phi Beta Kappa Application review based on Siena’s ability:

• To recruit and retain good students• To prepare students for graduate study• To make appropriate academic demands on those

enrolled, including opportunities for honors studies• To develop and maintain faculty whose preparation

and scholarly activity give evidence that they are able to establish and assess those demands

• To maintain financial resources sufficient to support the college’s academic programs

• To take precautions to prevent issues of governance, athletics, religion or politics from subverting the integrity of the college’s dedication to liberal learning
