For clarity, the operator may elect to explain the next test to the individual just beforethe Soldier must accomplish it (i.e., during exercise one explain that exercisetwo requires deep breathing (in through the nose and out through the mouth)).
Exercise 1: Normal breathing, keeping the head motionless. Exercise 2: Deep breathing, slowly but deeply inhaling through nose and exhalingfrom mouth. Exercise 3: Head movement side to side, looking over each shoulder in one-secondintervals. Ensure the canister does not touch shoulders while performing this exercise. Exercise 4: Ensure the canister does not touch chin while performing this exercise.Head movement up and down, looking at ceiling then floor in one-second intervals. Exercise 5: Rotate chin, moving the jaw in a circular pattern with mouth slightlyopen.
NOTEAfter the fifth exercise, you will hear a series of three beeps. An overall test result will then be displayed.

Replace the head harness under the following conditions: When it does not hold the mask assembly firmly against your face. When it is cut, torn, or frayed. When it has missing buckles or tabs. When it is deteriorated or stretched out.
o Perform maintenance according to technical manuals.o Use waterproof bag when requiredo Clean according to manualso Use your outserts.o Keep your mask clean.o Ensure your second skin is attached.o Replace worn out parts.

o Keep drinking system clear- ONLY DRINK WATER.o Fitted with M41 PATS.o Reference the TM every time.o Make sure you never store food in your mask carrier. o Use as a pillow.o Only perform 10 Level maintenance.
