October 4th Special Meeting 

There was a special board of directors meeting on October 4th, in Oakland.  This meeting was held in regards to a disciplinary action under Section 2.08 of the CLSA Bylaws against a member of CLSA and the 

disciplinary action failed.

Redlands CORS“gisa” 

GISA continuously collects GPS/GNSS signals and stores them in data files on a secure Esri server accessible to the public via the Esri website http://gnss.esri.com. GISA 

also broadcasts real­time GPS/GNSS data over the internet in industry standard Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services

  Corporate Member: $40  Shall have a valid California Land Surveyor’s or Photogrammetric License. 

  Affiliate Member: $30  Any person, who in their profession, relies upon the fundamentals of land surveying. 

  Associate Member: $30  Any person who holds a valid certificate as a Land Surveyor­In­Training. 

  Student Member: $5  A student in a college or university actively pursuing the study of land surveying.

The CLSA Professional Development Program (PDP) is a voluntary program intended to encourage and support the continued professional growth and competency of land surveyors and recognize their continuing education activities. This program also provides members a means to meet out­of­state licensure requirements. Instructions: Click here for rules and information regarding the PDP.

The Issue: 

California has been steadily reducing funding for educational institutions. ● The CSU Fresno Geomatics program is considered to be small and is more susceptible to cutbacks or 

elimination.  ● Both professors that hold a professional land surveying license, are now retired. 

 The Need: 

● CSU Fresno Geomatics program was the first four year surveying degree program in the nation and the first to become ABET accredited. 

● CSU Fresno Geomatics has graduated over 700 students. ● Students graduating from the CSU Fresno Geomatics program have gone on to serve in many leadership 

positions in the land surveying profession both in the private and public sector.  The Solution: 

● The CLSA Education Foundation has worked with CSU Fresno to create an endowment that will fund a full­time professor licensed to practice land surveying in California. This will help to ensure that the CSU Fresno Geomatics program continues.
