SHS ID CARD All students and staff are expected to visibly wear their SHS ID card while at school throughout the entire day including lunch time . The district’s goal of a Culture of Safety supports this student and staff expectation as clearly visible SHS ID allows for quick and easy recognition of students and staff during school hours. All students are provided one free school ID and one free school lanyard. Replacement ID cards can be obtained at the ASB finance window for $5.00 and a replacement lanyard for $1.00. SENIORS All seniors needing adult school we wil l be having a meeting during 6 th period in the dining hall TODAY. Half day seniors please attend the meeting if you are interested in attend adult school. ATTN: STUDENTS You need to follow the district ’s dress code policy at all times! No revealing clothing, straps must be wider than 2 inches, shorts must be mid-thigh, no holey pants, no oversized clothing, no gang related clothing, no extreme hair colors or haircuts. Mrs. Sanikian and the entire administration team will be strictly enforcing our dress code policy. A violation of dress code policy will result in Saturday School. PRIVILEGE CARDS Applications for privilege cards and walk home passes are in the student office on top of WALK HOME PASSES the counter. COLLEGE NIGHT Students grades 10-12, Fresno Area College Night will be held at the Fresno ConventionCenter Exhibit Hall on Wednesday, September 9th. If you are interested in attending thisevent you will need to sign up. The sign-up sheet and permission slips are on the counter in
the student office. Everyone attending needs to have a permission slip signed by a parentand turned into Ms. Loving in room 1002 before September 9th.
BACK TO SCHOOL This Friday, August 28th we will be having our first rally of the year. Our Back to SchoolRALLY Rally will be 6th period students will need to keep their backpacks and other belongings in
their 6th period classroom until after the rally.
BUS RIDERS If your bus arrives late to school, you now must show proof that you are a bus rider.Transportation has provided you with a sticker that you need to attach to back of your IDcard. If you do not have one, you must go to transportation and pick one up. No sticker,then your tardy will not be excused.
BOYS WATER POLO Any Boys interested in playing Water Polo please see Coach Wood immediately at the pool.Bearnation is looking for Water Polo Boys to field a team.
ALL STUDENTS Please do not come in the student office asking to speak with your counselor. Please do notask your teacher for a pass to come to the office. The Learning Directors are busy trying toget everything organized for your schedule changes.
SCHEDULE CHANGES Clip boards will be outside sometime this week, there is no need to go into student officeto find the clip boards. A table with the clip boards will be set up outside at that time youcan sign up and your counselor will call you in to address any issues that you are havingwith your schedule. Please be patient there is a lot of students that need schedule changesand it might take a little while before your Learning Director calls you in.
CELL PHONES & Please be respectful of the NO cell phone & IPOD rule from 8 AM – 3:30 PM. If your cell
IPODS phone is confiscated; A Parent/guardian must come to Selma High to pick up the item. Noexcuses. Please be respectful of the Selma High School Rules.
SCHOOL RULES All school rules will be enforced effective beginning the first day of school (Dress code,
No gum, No profanity, No harassment, No cell phones and No inappropriate material). Allstudents must have their student ID’s with them while on campus or at any school activity.
Students are reminded that the Selma Unified Dress Code applies to all after school eventsthroughout the year. Students will not be admitted if violating the district dress code.
SAT/ACT FEE Seniors if you need a fee waiver for the SAT or ACT Isaac Reyna in the counseling office willWAIVER be issuing them. Remember if you are going to apply to a 4 year college or university you
MUST have your SAT/ACT taken by December 2015. Don’t wait until the last minute to
register for your test
SATURDAY The first Saturday school of the 2015-2016 school year will be Saturday, Sept. 12th.SCHOOL
