FOREWORD It’s my pleasure to report the various activities organized by the college to enhance the performance of the students in academic as well as in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The report also reflects the achievements of the college in academic as well as other activities.
The most note worthy achievement in the academic section is that one of our students Mr.Dharmesh Prakash Saindane received ‘Gold Medal’ from North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon for standing first in the university at the B.Sc final year examination conducted in April 2009.
Another outstanding achievement of our college is in N.S.S. activities. Our N.S.S. Unit is selected as the best N.S.S. Unit by the North Maharashtra University as well as Govt. of Maharashtra and awarded trophy of the best unit at state level. Ours is the first college from North Maharashtra University to receive this state level award. The programme officer of our college Mrs. Manda Gavit is also honored with the best programme officer award by the Govt. of Maharashtra. The North Maharashtra University also awarded her the best programme Officer award.
The college invited eminent personalities on various occasions to help students for their all round development Dr.Narendra Dabholkar the pioneer of the movement eradication of superstitions and blind beliefs in Maharashtra was invited specially to guide our tribal students as the tribal community still engrossed in many such superstitions and blind beliefs.
The other eminent personalities like principal Dr.Deore from Sakri college, Dr.R.D.Supekar from Jamkhed College, Prinncipal Dr.Krishhna Potdar, Vidyawardhini College Dhule, Principal D.S.Patil Mahila Mahavidyalay, Nandurbar, Dr.Tejal Shah Dr. Kanchan Vasave, Shri A.D. Vasave Were among the eminent visitors. A Tourist group from London also visited our college & interacted with the faculty & the management Hon. Surupsinghji Naik, the Chairman of our institute & the former minister & Member of parliament from Nandurbar constituency Hon. Manikraoji Gavit guided us in various ways by visiting the college frequently.
The college organized one day University level workshop for girls under, the auspices of ‘Yuvati Sabha’ as self-dependent movement in which more than 60 girls participated. To these girls the training of ‘Judo’& ‘Karate’ was given by teachers group from Chinchpada.
The dept. of Zoology organized a four day workshop for the college students on disaster management the college also runs the competitive exam training center in collaboration with the north Maharashtra University for tribal students. From the next academic year the college is going to .run ‘Remedial couching classes’ for the difficult subjects like, English, Economics, Mathematics the college received grant of 10,00000/- for the three vocational
courses i.e. D.M.L.T. , C.M.L.T. & certificate course in spoken English. Under the development & merge scheme the college received the grant of 61,55000/-
Two of our faculty members Dr. Mali & Prof J.G. Pathan received grants from U.G.C. for their minor research projects. The faculty members are engaged in updating their knowledge by attending seminars & conferences at various levels.
One of our faculty members Shri B.B. Kuwar received Rashtriya Sadbhavna Ekta Puraskar from Bhartiya Manav Vikas Seva Sangh, Shahapur, Dist Thane for his Social Service. Another faculty member from the dept of History Mr. H.B. Sartape Passed NET for the second time. Dr. S.S. Pulawale from the dept. of Marathi published his book Marathi Katha, Parampara Aani Swarup Vishesh. The book which is about the tradition in Marathi short story its nature & features. It is published by Chinmaya Prakashan Aurangabad. Dr. Purawale & Prof A.F. Kshirsagar, dept of English were invited as resource persons at the University to guide the candidates appearing for NET / SET examination
The office superintendent of our college received the best employee award from north Maharashtra University Jalgaon & in appreciation of this the govt. of Maharashtra gave two additional increments to him.
The performance of the college in sports activities is also remarkable 13 players from our college represented North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon in the inter- University Tournament in various games, They also represented the University for the Ashwamedh Inter – University Tournament at state level.
To inculcate the social values among students & develop various skills like oratory, literary, fine arts etc. the college organizes number of programs through the committees appointed for the purpose. Every year on 12th Jan to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand the college organizes inter – collegiate debate competition at the state level on the burning topics. This year the topic of the competition was strike of employees
The college also runs Yashwantrao Chawan Maharastra open University Centre for those people who could not get education in conventional colleges for various reasons.
For the effective results & the implementation of the activities the role of the management is quite valuable. They support us in every possible way. To conclude I would request you to judge our report on the basis of tribal area. I hope your support will inspire us to work hard & achieve our goal of uplifting the standard of not only the tribal students but also of the entire tribal community

1. Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution To enhance the standard of higher education to fulfill the goals
& the objectives set by the institution our college organizes various programmes co-curricular & extra – curricular activities for students faculty members & the society around the college such activities are described in the report for your kind information.
A) Activities for the students: In the last academic year i.e. 2009-10 the college organized
number of activities like debate & elocution competition, cultural programmes, story – telling competition, Quiz, book-review, to develop the all-round personality of the students for uplifting the educational skills & efficiencies of the students. The college organized lectures of eminent personalities, seminars, paper-presentation & group discursions for students. Some departments organized educational tours for the students.
To create awareness about social values among students, the college organized Blood-group donation & detection camp, AIDS Awareness Programmes, celebration of various festivals, the birth & death anniversaries of great personalities etc. The college also runs competitive exams counseling centre for tribal students in collaboration with the students welfare department of north Maharashtra University Jalgaon. To keep the students healthy the college provides facilities for various sports. The college also has well – equipped gym. which is utilized by the students & the faculty members. Different tournaments are also arranged for students.

Pathan dept of physics entitled “ spray deposited pure & CUO doped 2nd thin films for NH3 sensing “ was published in international journal ‘sensors & Transducers on 9 sep 2009.

The college intends to introduce the computer science as a special subject at T.Y.B.sc level & continue the three vocational courses ie D.M.L.T. – C.M.L.T. & certificate course in spoken English

The college follows the syllabi framed & prescribed by the north Maharashtra University Jalgaon The faculty members contribute in designing the syllabi various subjects as a member of the board of studies of the university

The college conducts the university examinations as per the guidelines of the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. Besides the college conducts Term end examinations of 50 marks of each subject The college also organize practice tests for general knowledge & environmental science.
7. Initiative towards faculty development programmes :
The college receives grants from UGC for the implementation of faculty development programme. For this academic year college received Rupees 10689/- out of which 15000/- has been utilized Two teachers attended Refresher courses of their respective subjects, eleven teachers attended the University level seminars & conferences Twelve teachers participated in seminars conferences at the state – level, seven faculty members represented our college at the national level seminars & conferences.

One of our faculty member Mr. Deepak Jaiswal submitted his thesis to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad for Ph.D. degree. Another faculty member from the Dept of English Mr. J.D.Sali submitted his dissertation for M.Phil Degree. Two of our faculty members Mr. I.G. Pathan and Dr. R.A. Mali are working on the research projects aided by U.G.C. Mr. C.L. Surwade from the department of Hindi has registered his name for Ph. D. degree to North Maharashtra University Jalgaon Dr. R.D. Patil, the Head of the Department of Zoology receives recognition from north Maharashtra University Jalgaon as a guide for Ph. D. Students.

3. On the 7th day of Ganesh festival the N.S.S. unit collected the holy waste from all the Ganesh festival units of the town.
4. To understand the social problems and help the people in uplifting their standard of life, Gram Sabha was organized by the N.S.S. unit at the adopted village Bilbara.
5. The N.S.S. unit celebrated the birth day of the chairman of the Institute Hon Shri Surupsingji Naik by arranging blood donation camp in collaboration with Jan Seva blood bank Dhule. In this camp 43 Students & fire faculty members donated blood.
6. The N.S.S. Unit observe the N.S.S. establishment day by organizing a lecture of Smt M.A. Gavit, the former programme officer on 24th September 2009
7. The unit organized a lecture of Principal P.D. Deore, Sakri college to mark Nonviolent day on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, of 2nd October 2009
8. The N.S.S. Unit also conducted the examination on 10/10/09 on Gandhi thoughts to spread Gandhian philosophy of life among students This year 227 students appeared for the above examination
9. On 8th September the N.S.S. volunteers planted trees at the adapted site Lalbari & also cleaned the site by sweeping the village.
10. On 28th September 2009 the unit observed Mahatma Phule Death anniversary by arranging a lecture of Shri Ganesh Mahajan from B.Ed college Navapur
11. To mark the Death anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar i.e. Mahaparinirvana day, the unit organized a lecture of Shri A.B.Mahajan
12. The winter camp was organized at the adopted village Bilbara from 20th Dec to 26th Dec, 2009 Inn this camp 125 male and female students were engaged in the social service of the village
13. The unit celebrated Republic day in the auspicious presence of hon. shri Surupsingji Naik by arranging the competition of patriotic songs.
14. 50 volunteers from the N.S.S. unit & B programme officers assisted the rural hospital in effective implementation of pulse polio movement. The unit actively participated in the various programmes organized by the N.S.S. unit of other colleges the following chart shows the participation of the unit.

12. The N.S.S. unit observed and celebrated the following days and
events as shown below to inculcate social responsibility Civic values, self discipline voluntary service among students. The unit is always active in implementing various campaign like cleanliness drive anti drug awareness campaign collection of solid religious waste material Blood group detection camp Nirmal Gram Abhiyan. The unit also organized various rallies like peace rally. AIDS awareness rally etc. The unit also helps actively in organizing Examination on Gandhian Thought. The unit rendered its voluntary services to Rural Hospital in effective launch of pulse polio campaign. The unit organized 10 days special winter camp at the adopted village Gadad with the intention to implement effectively Nirmal Gram Abhiyan, open toilet free village campaign. In this camp 110 volunteers offered their services to the villagers by staying there for 10 days. During the camp the unit organized women’s Health camp to explain the problems of malnutrition and the problems of young mothers. On 28th Dec 2008 in the presence of Shri Marthnd Joshi, the Chairman of Nandurbar district consumer forum, the unit ogranized a consumers camp for the villagers of Gadad and the neighboring Village.

13. The N.S.S. unit felicitated some volunteers for their
commendable achievements in the extracurricular activities. B) Vivek Vahini :
Being in Tribal area our college has been conducting various community oriented activities like eradication of superstitions, black magic and witch craft. Vivek Vahini was started with this very idea of inculcating scientific attitude among the ignorant and illiterate tribals through the students in general and adivasi students in particular. In the academic year 2008-2009 Vivek Vahini organized following lectures and programmes in college.

The college follows the conventional method of the assessment of teachers with the help of the departmental assessment on the basis of feed back data from students, observations by respective head of the departments & complaints or complements if any from students.

In the month of January 2010 the Association organized a meeting in which the parents suggested some new ideas like identification for all students & the teachers should be made compulsory. One of the parents also suggested to introduce compulsory health programme for all students. The association took notice of all the suggestions for the next academic year.
31. Health Services :
The college provided more facilities in the newly constructed health – club for the students, teachers & the citizen of the town. Besides this the college provides basic health services like medical check – up first aid services, blood – group detection camp etc. The college has also followed the insurance scheme of the north Maharashtra University Jalgaon for the students.
32. Performance in sports activities :
This year the performance of the college in sports activities is quite remarkable. The college teams participated in various games like, cross country, kho-kho, Table – tennis, volley ball, athletics, cricket etc. The following chart reflects the performance in sports activities.
Ku. Gavit Sawita Shankar the student of FYBA received the best sports person award for the year 2009-2010. She was honoured with a trophy donated by Shri. Surupsingji Naik, The chairman of our institute.
33. Incentives to outstanding sports persons : 1. The college gives a track suit to all inter University players 2. The college also appreciates the efforts of the sportsmen by giving
trophies to them. 3. The North Maharashtra University has made a provision in the
University statute to keep 10 grace marks for sports – persons, participating in inter – collegiate & inter – group tournaments.
4. The college provides special facilities for exercise to the sports-persons in the form of free – health club membership-to them
5. The college also provides a refreshment to the students after every practice session & the special uniform is provided for those who represent college inn Inter-collegiate tournament

This year college formed four teachers committee for the students career guidance & counseling under the chairmanship of Shri S.R. Borse the lecturer in physics. The committee organized the lectures of eminent personalities, for the guidance to the students about competitive exams.
36. Development Programme of Non Teaching Staff. The college provides opportunities to non-teaching staff to
attended conferences work – shops, training programmes etc. The result of that is clearly reflected in the form of special 2 increments given to Mr.Manoj Choudhary the office Superintendent of our college by North Maharashtra University for his best performance as O.S.

37. Healthy Practices of the Institution: i. The institution is very keen on improving the standard of the education imparted in college & therefore has formed a committee including senior teachers & members of the management ii. The college has formed QAC & IQAC, to uplift the standard of education & enhance the performance of the students. iii. The college is keen to know the drawbacks or lapses in the day to day activities, therefore the college has its Grievance cell. This committee listens the complaints of students. Parents as well as teaching & non teaching staff & tries to remove those short-comings in day to day activities. The college has a complaint Box, one in the main building & the other one in the library specially for suggestions or complaints about library iv. To inculcate social values & to provide moral education the college organizes various functions like celebrating festivals , like raksha – Bandhan mothers Day Teachers Day sadbhavana Day organization of Blood- donation Camp- Aids awareness rally environment awareness programmes etc. The college also gives training to the students to help society in mishaps or natural calamities The college organizes one State – level Debate competition on burning topics related to social religious, economic or national issues.

01) Debate committee :- The college forms debate committee to develop the oratory skills among students. This committee organizes college level elocution & debate competitions. The committee also organizes lectures of scholars to guide students in mastering the oratory skills. Every year the state level debate competition is organized on 12th Jan, the birth anniversary of swami Vivekanand, in the memory of late Shri Dwarkaprasad Hansalalji Agrawal This year this state level debate competition was on the burning issue The repeated strike of the government employee Dr. Krishna Pottdar, Principal Vidyawardhini college Dhule inaugurated the competition & guided students on the oratory skill. This year 16 colleges from North Maharashtra University Participated in the competition Shri S.H. Naik B.Ed. college Navapur won the trophy Prof. Nerpagar, Sakri college, Prof. Mahale G.T.P. college, Nandurbar & Advocate Jitendra Dusane were the judges. Mr. Avdhesh Pannde, the student from S.Y.B.Sc received third prize in the elocution competition arranged by forest department Nandurbar Zone. He also received consolation prize in the elocution competition on Dowry system at Jalgaon. Our college team participated in the elocution competition on Gandhian Thoughts & international relations organized by Z.B.patil college Dhule. Miss Mali & Miss Bhadane represented our college in the University level debate competition organized at shirpur as a part of youth festival Miss Vrushali Deshpande participated in elocution competition in the youth festival The debate committee also organized a lecture of Dr. Tejal Shah for the guidance of the students. 02) Library Committee :- To enrich the library facilities the college appoints a committee of five senior teachers This year 590 new texts & reference books are purchased. The library increased the number of journals & magazines from 16 to 43. The library also provides book Bank facility for poor students. This year six students availed of this facility The central library of our college provides the following services.

Every year the committee decides the winners of the best library user award [ male / female ] This year Shri Valvi Manish & Miss Padvi Amruta were the respective winners.
The library visitors average number per day is 70 & the per day issuing of books in around 50 The library offered 10 ex-students it’s membership. The library has inter-library loan services with D.Ed. & B.Ed colleges of our institute.
03) General Knowledge and Career Counseling Unit :-
The college forms a committee of four teachers to organize weekly lectures of senior teachers to help students to update their general knowledge & enhance their performance in the university examination for the IInd year students in G.K. The committee also conducts practice exams for the IInd year students. The committee also displays the question answer sets on various topics on the notice board. This year to mark the birth Anniversary of mahatma Gandhi the committee organized a lecture of principal P.D. Deore to guide students about the competitive exams. The members of the committee listen to the problem difficulties of the students & guide them to find out the solution .
04) Female Students Cultural Committee :- For the all-round development of female student teachers of this committee organizes various programmes. This year the inaugural ceremony was held on 2nd Nov 2009 by the auspicious hands of Dr. Kanchan Vasave. Dr. Vasave guided the girls on the topic women & Health. On 3 rd Jan 2010 the committee observed Savitribai Phule Birth Anniversary by celebrating it as a saree day Dr. Lata Survade Delivered a lecture on personality development The Yuvati Sabha celebrated Republic day by organizing competitions like rangoli, dish decoration & mehandi competition on 25th & 26th Jan The committee in collaboration with North Maharashtra University Organized personality development workshop for girls on 16th Jan On 23rd Jan 2010 the committee organized fast writing competition for on 3rd Fe b 2010 the committee organized University level Self –
dependence movement Judo-Karate campaign was organized in collaboration with North Maharashtra University 05) Literary Association:- To inspire students to develop writing skills & literary skill, the literary association organizes programmes like, Essay competition, poetry recitation & lectures of literary writers. This year the literary association was inaugurated by Dr. R.B. Supekar, the head of the department of Marathi Jamkhed college, Dist Ahmednagar. Dr. Supekar presented autobiographical mono act titled Zadu Te Khadu i. e groom to chalk stick The committee organized Kavi – Sammelan for college students & faculty members on 30th Oct 2009. The chief guest for this function was Nitin Gavande the Taluka magistrate, Navapur 06) Business Economics and Planning Forum:- To inculcate various business forum specially among students of commerce faculty of dept. of economics the college forms the committee of 4 senior teachers from the economics & commerce department This forum organizes lectures, group discussions on the topics related to commerce This year on 27th Feb a lecture of Prin. Dr. D.S. Patil womens college Nandurbar guided the students. Business men & faculty members. 07) Vivek Vahini :- To inculcate scientific attitude & develop the thinking ability among students, the Vivek Vahini committee organizes different programmes for developing thinking personality of the student This year the committee invited Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, the pioneer & the president of ANIS the movement for eradication of superstitions. He in his lecture explained the reasons of eradicatin of superstitions. In the same function Mr. Avinash Patil & Vinayak Valve also expressed their thoughts on superstitions The function was held on 14th Nov 2009 Three of our faculty members Mr. & Mrs. Udavant & Shri A.B. Mahajan Participated in the symposia organized by Tashil office, Navapur on the occasion of National Consumer’s Day, On 3rd Oct 2009 Shri M.D. Udavant, delivered a lecture on pollution caused by crackers. The committee also asked the students of Vivek Vahini to write post cards to the friends & relatives for effective anti – crackers movement.
08) Earn and Learn and Campus Development Committee:- With the intension to provide financial support to the poor and needy students the college forms the above committee. The committee selects the real needy students & help them by asking them do some sort of work in the college campus. This year 23 students were benefitted. The north Maharashtra University. Jalgaon also supported the students from the weaker sectar. The University provided financial support of Rs. 11500 to the 14 students from our college. Such financial support was indeed geod enough for the poor students to complete their education
This committee also takes care of the college campus. It functions to keep the campus clean and beautiful and try to decorate it by planting trees and developing gardens at appropriate places.
09) Staff Academy:-
To promote research attitude among faculty members, the college runs staff academy where faculty members present papers & the lectures of the scholars are arranged to guide the faculty members. This year Prin, B.H. Jadhhav inaugurated the academy on 27th Nov 2009 Shri C.L. Survade from the dept. of Hindi Presented a paper on the topic Dalit Sahitya ke Prerana Shrot i.e. the inspiring resources of Dalit literature
10) Gymkhana Committee :-
To improve the performance of the college in sports activities. The
college appoints gymkhana committee which plans the annual sports activities & organizes local level tournaments for the students. The committee also arranges training programmes for the college team & proviece necessary facilities for practice. The committee also selects the college teams for the participation in inter – collegiate tournaments.
11) Commerce Association :-
To create awareners specially among the students of commerce about commerce & professions related to it The commerce association remains active This year the association was inaugurated by Mr. K.S. Sharma, the chartered accountant. On 7th March 2010 a lecture of Shri S.Y. Patil Principal N.D. & my Sarvajanik High School & Jr. College for commerce Student.
To promote literary skills & provide an opportunity for the young writers to publish their literary writing the college published it’s annual magazine Eklavya
The college annual Eklavya won the third prize for its cover – page & also received the best article prize at university level
The college also published Adirang wall – paper with the intention to develop literary skills among students. This year 4 editions of it were published, one of them was tribal special Edition Miss Laxmi Gamit received the best sketch for Adirang & Ravindra Valvi won the best Article’s award. The best editor award was given to Miss Pita Dhiru Kokani
13) Tour Committee :-
The committee of four teachers plans the general tour of the college and also helps the various departments in planning and organizing various departmental study tours. This year due to extended strike of the teachers it was not possible to organize a general tour. However four departments organized one day study tours for their students.
This year the science association was inaugurated on 9th Sep 2009 with the intention to inculcate scientific & research attitude among the students from science faculty. The association organized lectures of scholars for this purpose. On 10th Sep the association conducted blood – group detection camp as well as hemoglobin test camp in which the students from science faculty detected blood group of 100 female students & checked their Hemoglobin
Every year college forms a committee of 4 senior teachers with the intention to interact with the parents & share their suggestions in uplifting the standard of education & improving the infrastructure of the college This year the committee organized the gathering of parents & teachers on 30th Jan 2010 in which large number of parents participated & expressed their veins, talked about difficulties, suggested various schemes. 17) Environment Science Committee :- To create awareners among students about the environment the committee arranges lectures of eminent personalities in the field of environment. The committee also arrange lectures for first year students of all three faculties as the North Maharashtra University has introduced environmental science as a students.
