to the Exhibitor and the Exhibitor was the registered owner/joint owner of the

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ANIMAL OWNERS INvOLvED IN SHOW-
ING ANIMALS.
The Irish Shows Association would advise all animal owners who have their
animals insured to have the Insurance cover extended to cover them while
showing animals at Shows, it may cost very little or nothing at all depend-
ing on who you have Insurance with.
The reason for giving this advice is that if your animal were to injure some-
one or damage someone’s property, and it is established that your animal
was out of your control at that time, you may be held responsible, or part-
ly responsible for any injury or damage caused. You may end up paying all,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR EXHIBITORS OF CATTLE IN 2015
Keepers wishing to show cattle in 2015 must obtain a Certificate of Compliance
prior to the movement of the animal to the Show. This insures that the animal(s) in
question has the necessary TB, BR and BVB tests recorded on the Department’s
database and that the keeper presenting the animal is not restricted by the
Department.
Certificates of Compliance can be obtained online from the Animal Identification
and Movement (AIM) system through the www.agfood.ie facility or from the Cattle
Movement Notification Agency. When applying for a Certificate of Compliance,
Keepers should not specify a destination herd.
On the day of the Show, the Certificate of Compliance should be presented to the
Show Secretary along with the bovine passport for the animal.
The keeper and the Show Secretary will then sign the Movement Notification sec-
tion of the Certificate which will then be sent to the local DVO for recording onto
the AIM system.
Please note:
Only cattle for which a valid Certificate of Compliance is provided to the Show
Secretary can be shown on the day of the Show.
T.B.
All animals must come from herds, which are not restricted, and the herd and rele-
vant animals must have had a clear test within the previous 12 months. No pre-
movement test is required for TB. However, it is recommended by the Department
that a 30-day pre-movement for TB should apply to all shows.
Brucellosis
All animals must come from herds which are not restricted.
Certain animals (i.e. females aged 18 months and over and bulls aged 24 months and
over) must have passed a test for brucellosis within the previous 60 days. However,
these animals may move to any number of shows within the validity period of the
same 60-day pre-movement test.
Identification
All cattle must bear double plastic tags as issued under the Department’s identifica-
tion system. They must be accompanied by their passports
