The series began in 2012 when the two teams met in Rome - it was Shorter’s first=ever appear- ance in a GSC-TV game - with VSU claiming a 37-6 deici- sion. The last two clashes have been played in Valdota, where the Blazers defeated the Hawks 41-0 in 2013 and handed Shorter a 37-9 setback last year. • The Hawks enter tonight’s game out to end a two- game GSC losing skid, having lost to Delta State and West Alabama in their last two oungs. Shorter’s lone confer- ence win came on the road at Mississippi College. The Blazers, who are ranked No. 25 in this week’s D2Football. com Top 25 poll, also come into the game with a 1-2 coference slate, their GSC win coming last week against Mississippi College and one that snapped what was a two-game conference losing streak with the losses com- ing against North Alabama and West Georgia. • This is the second straight Florida Space Coast GSC-TV on ESPN Game of the Week for the Hawks, who played in front of the cameras last week in Livingston, Ala., against West Alabama. Don Russell will provide the play-by-play for the game while Rick Rhoades will serve as the color analyst. • It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Barron Stadium as Shorter supports the annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encour- age others to do the same. • At halſtime tonight, the Hawks will honor last year’s 2014-15 championship teams - volleyball, GSC regular- season champions; soſtball, GSC champions and NCAA region; women’s golf, NCCAA Naonal Champion; and men’s and women’s track, NCCAA Naonal Champions and Peach Belt Conference Champions.
