SHORELINER Volume 70, No. 11 November 2019 3115 Ocean Drive Corpus Christi, TX 78404-1614 361-888-8228 First Family, October brought us cooler temperatures and a time to reflect on some of the characteristics of God. One of those characteristics we looked at was peace. I hope you were reminded that God is able and God is willing to offer you His peace - a rest in the midst of the storm that passes all understanding. We are continuing this idea of rest into November with a look at Sabbath. As we move toward the holidays, I challenge you to practice a Sabbath rest and spend that time with God, looking at all the ways He is faithful in your life. Count your blessings! So often, we only realize what we have when it is no longer there. We often take for granted the blessings we have been given. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on how God has blessed you and to offer thanks. From the smallest, most seemingly insignificant aspects of your life to life itself, God is active, involved and working. Praise Him for the fact that even when we don’t pay attention, He is still there for us - loving, providing, protecting and blessing! Praise Him today for the way He loves! Our Annual Mission Offering is our time to give above our support of our Ministry Funding Plan. This offering will be received until December 31, 2019, and the church goal is $50,080. Fifty percent of these monies will go to impact our partner mission agencies. 25% International Missions and missionaries 15% Mary Hill Davis—Texas mission projects 10% North American Missions—support ministry and church starts in the cities The other fifty percent goes to support and provide for our local ministries. 25% Assistance for FBCCC members to participate in world mission trips. 8% Street Ministry—purchase blankets and meals for the homeless of Corpus Christi 7% Food Pantry—provide food for approximately 1,200 people per month 5% Benevolence Ministry—provide assistance for people in need 5% Hammer Slammers—provide building materials and needs for our newly reorganized team Lastly, you may ask why a goal of $50,080? Beginning Sunday, November 3, we will have boards set outside the Worship Center with envelopes numbered from $1 to $316. Children, students and adults are encouraged to choose an envelope with the dollar amount you and your family want to support for our mission offering. If all 316 envelopes are taken and returned we will receive our $50,080 goal. Our theme verse, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16. I encourage you to have some fun and join us on our effort to reach our church goal. You are not limited to only the amount listed on the envelope. Let’s do our best to have all the envelopes taken and returned by December 31. Thank you for praying, serving and giving.
