    CREATING A CULTURE OF SAFETY

Creating a culture of Safety requires clear commitment from all members. SLS exists as a lifesaving organisation, and as a result we have to endeavour to assure the very highest standards of health and safety for all volunteers and staff, as well as anyone else that may be affected by what we do. Health and Safety (H&S) is managed under the relevant legislation, and everyone has a duty to comply with H&S practices - by taking reasonable care of his or her own H&S and that of others whilst carrying our surf club duties. H&S is not a separate issue to be managed, but is an integral part of all lifesaving activities.

SLS ultimate goal is to promote a culture where all members understand that SAFETY COMES FIRST!

Want more information? You can look at the Guidelines for Safer Surf clubs here: http://www.hsls.org.au/content.cfm?page_id=603951&current_category_code=14739
