Always separate your ammo from your

firearm. This is mainly so you don’t leave the firearm

loaded.

The NRA or National Rifle Association has 3 very

basic rules to follow. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready

to shoot. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to shoot.

Most ranges have there own rules but here are 10 common range rules you should need to know whether you have a range master(someone who runs the range) or not.

When at the range there are 10 basic rules you should follow. These will keep you and anyone else there safe. Rules are there to have a good safe time and not put a damper on your afternoon or morning.

This is to protect the people around you. As

long as the muzzle is pointed in a safe direction if it were to accidently go off then there would be no worries because the muzzle was pointed in a safe direction.

ALWAYS point the muzzle in a safe direction.

If you treat it as if it were loaded at all times

then hopefully this should keep you safe at all times.

Treat every firearm with the same respect as you would a loaded one.

My cousin was hunting for deer. It was deer

season and not turkey season. He was told by his father to shoot. He replied “Dad its not turkey season!”

A turkey had gotten in-between the deer and him. Its important to know what is in front of and behind your target so you accidentally don’t shoot an animal that’s not in season or more importantly you don’t kill someone.

Be sure of your target and what is in front of

it and behind it.

This keeps everyone safe. There can be no

accidental firing without a loaded firearm. `This can protect little kids who don’t know

what they are doing around a firearm.

Unload firearms when not in use.

This is mainly to protect the weapon and the

ammunition. This is to help avoid denting or scratching your firearm.

For the ammunition side of things if you don’t handle it carefully you could drop a round and it could accidently go off . Very slim chance however its still possible.

Best way is a case.

Handle firearms and Ammunition carefully

Know what area is safe to shoot in and stay in

that area.

Know your safe zone-of-fire and stick to it.

If you are angry and upset its ok to shoot and

take out a little frustration on a target however, don’t skip any safety rules! Be safe stay as calm as possible and have fun to help your mood. No one’s mood is improved if they hurt themselves or someone else.

Control your emotions when it comes to safety.

Ricochets happen and when they do you want

to be wearing eye protection! The casing can bounce back and hit you in the eye as well or maybe someone in the next lane is shooting and one of there casings can fly and hit you in the eye.

Hearing protection I think is self-explanatory. Guns are loud and you should protect your hearing from loud noises.

Wear ear and eye protection.

Self-explanatory really. You need to have a clear mind to be able to

make clear and safe decisions. Would you trust this guy with a gun?

Don’t drink alcohol or take drugs before or

while handling firearms.

This could mean any number of things, but as

long as you are safe no trouble should come to you. Use your head. If something says don’t shoot check it out first. Then follow your instincts.

Beware of additional circumstances which require added caution or safety awareness
