It's been quite the end to 5780, and we should certainly give a little extra kavanah to our davening that 5781 should be a great year for us personally and for our Shul. This yuntif came at great cost: in money, man hours, and great effort of our volunteers. It is difficult to thank the many people who helped behind the scenes, but I want to notice those who went the extra mile. First, let's thank our incredible Rav, who always leads from the front, and even more acutely so since the pandemic began. Thank you to a great mentsch and friend, the incredibly selfless Dr. Itzi Barr, without whom our shul would not function. There is no doubt I spend more hours talking to the Rabbi and Itzi in the course of a day than my entire family combined, though Marla might appreciate her newfound quiet. Thank you to our executive board and general board, past presidents and officers of the shul. Thank you to our gabbaim, baalei tefiloh, kriah, and tokeah for volunteering their talents and increasing our simchas yom tov. Thank you our Yomim Noraim Seating Chairman, Dr. Avi Zuckerbrod, who worked many countless hours - and always with a smile. Thank you to Natan Berry, Myron Froehlich, Mayer Kohen, Al Meinecke, Ari Moskovitz, Alan Taragin, Chaim Wealcatch, Sasha Zakharin and the Security Committee. Thank you to Shira Glickman for her long hours, both inside and outside the office, in helping our Shul run. And thank you to you, our incredible Shomrei family, for continuing to prove why Shomrei Emunah is the backbone of the Baltimore Orthodox community. May we continue to give to our Shul as much as it gives to us. Wishing you a k'siva v'chasima tova, gut g'bencht yahr, and shana tova u'metukah! Bernard Yaffe Tzedakah Fund – Annual Ellul/Tishrei

Campaign

The current COVID-19 situation has increased the need for

us to help our fellow Shul members, neighbors and brothers

and sisters in Eretz Yisroel. Though in-shul collections are

unfortunately not feasible at this time, we urge you to

donate through the shul website or by mailing or dropping

off a check to the Shul office.

• Checks for Local Donations to help members of our shul

and community should be made payable to the Bernard

Yaffe Tzedakah Fund, with a “Local” notation in the memo

space.

• Old City Fund by writing a check to the Bernard Yaffe

Tzedakah Fund, with a notation for “Old City Fund.”

In the zechus of our generosity, may this eis tzara end soon

and may we all be inscribed and sealed in the Book of Life

and be blessed with good health and hatzlacha.
