DGS vide their letter 41-NT(16)/2004-ptI dated 21.11.2012 grants an exemption from the requirement of (a) Rule 23 (a) - ii- Fitment of second Mast Head Light. (b) Rule 21 (c) & (d) - Positing of stern light & towing light of the Merchant Shipping (Preventio of collision at sea) Amendment Regulations, 1986 and COLREGS. This exemption is with a condition that search light shall be provided to warn other approaching vessels, when necessary.

DGS vide their letter 41NT(1)/2012-pt-I dated 04.10.2013 grants an exemption for vessel "TAG-10" from the requirement of (a)Annex 1-2 (i) (i) - vertical spacing between light (b) Annex 1-2 (f) (ii) - Positioning of mast head light. This exemption is wih a condition that a search light shall be fitted to warn other approaching vessels, as necessary. Vessel has provided all sound light(s) are clear of all obstructions.Copy of this letter should be kept along with the L&SS plan on board the vessel.

Upon completion of the first tail shaft survey scheduled on or after 1 Jan 2016, new tailshaft survey notation as per Class Rulerequirement (Rule change notice No.2 - Jan 2016) is to be recommended for assignment.An additional information is to be recommended providing date of withdrawal of the tail shaft, type of survey performed, type ofpropeller connection, tailshaft survey method (as per changes to rule requirement) which may be applied at the next tailshaft survey with due date.

Those two-way portable radiotelephone apparatus to be of an explosion proof type or intrinsically safe.Ship-specific plans and procedures for recovery of persons from the water to be placed on board (as required by SOLAS Ch.III Reg.17-1) by the first periodical or renewal safety equipment survey of the ship to be carried out after 1 July 2014 whichever comes first.Appropriate portable atmosphere testing instrument/s (as a minimum capable of measuring concentrations of oxygen, flammable gases or vapours, hydrogen sulphide and carbon monoxide) will be required (SOLAS Ch.XI-1 Reg.7) to be carried on board from 01/07/2016. Information related to e-Certificate

Class & Statutory certificates issued are indicated in the survey status as "HC" for certificates issued in hardcopy format & "DC"for Digitally signed Certificate (e-Certificate).

IRS will be issuing hard copy as well as e-certificates for a period of 5 years from the commencement of this service.

Verification / downloading of e-Certificates

e-Certificate, can be verified on the IRClass website at address by using a Tracking ID which appears at the bottom of each page of an e-Certificate.

e-Certificate verification from IRClass website can also be done by scanning the QR Code, printed on the bottom right side of the certificate using any QR CODE scanning application available in app store.

e-Certificate can be downloaded from IRClass website by using the Unique Tracking ID provided to each certificate orby scanning the QR code printed on the face of the certificate. e-certificates can also be directly downloaded from IRClass website by using login credentials provided to the company.

Endorsement of e-certificates after completion of Periodical Surveys/Audits/Inspections:

Endorsement by IRS surveyor

Upon completion of Periodical Surveys/Audits/Inspections attending surveyor/auditor shall update endorsement details in the e-Certificates online immediately but within two working days. As an interim measure a copy of the e-certificate shall be printed from IRClass website & endorsed towards surveys being completed and left on board.The hard copy of the certificate available on board the vessel also should be endorsed and within 2 days on receipt ofthe information that the digitally signed e-certificate is available on irclass website the owner after confirming so, may withdraw the manually endorsed e-certificate left on board by the surveyor.

1. Any repairs to the hull, machinery and equipment either as a result of damage or wear and tear which are required for maintenance of class are to be carried out under inspection of and to the satisfaction of the surveyors.

2. Where a vessel is damaged to an extent resulting in towage outside port limits, it shall be the Owners' responsibility to notify IRS at the first practicable opportunity.

3. Any alteration proposed to be carried out to approved scantlings and arrangements of the hull machinery or equipment are to meet with approval of IRS. Such approved alterations are to be carried out under the inspection of, and to the satisfaction of surveyors.

4. When a ship is detained by Port State Control, IRS is to be immediately notified by the owner / operator for arranging attendance by a Surveyor.

5. When a vessel meets any accident such as fire, collision etc., it shall be the Owners' responsibility to notify IRS at the first practicable opportunity.

6. It shall be the Owners' responsibility to maintain the vessel in between surveys.

7. If the vessel's class has been laid up, in order to maintain the laid up status, it shall be the Owners' responsibility to offer the vessel for general examination within the window of periodical survey.

8. When a vessel is under survey, it shall be Owners' responsibility to notify IRS if vessel is sailing out of port limits.

9. The class of a vessel will be liable to be suspended if the Owner fails to notify IRS of any damage to the ship's hull, machinery or equipment, which may adversely affect classification of the vessel or subsequently fails to arrange for the survey as may be advised by IRS.

10. The class of a vessel will be automatically suspended from the expiry date of Certificate of Class or by the expiry date of any extension granted, if the special survey has not been completed by the due date and an extension has not been agreed to, or the vessel is not under attendance by the surveyor with a view to complete the surveys prior to resuming service.

11. The class of a vessel will also be automatically suspended if the annual, intermediate survey become overdue.

12. The class of a vessel will be subject to a suspension procedure if an item of continuous survey is overdue at the time of annual survey, unless the item is dealt with or postponed by agreement.

13. The class of the vessel will also be subject to a suspension procedure if recommendations and/or conditions of class are not dealt with by the due date or postponed by agreement, by the due date.

14. The class of a vessel will be liable to be suspended if alterations are carried out on items which may affect the classification of the ship without informing IRS, except in the case of emergency repairs.

15. The class of a ship is liable to be withheld or, if already granted, may be withdrawn in case of any non-payment of fees or expenses chargeable for the service rendered.

16. Where any ship proceeds to sea with less freeboard than that approved by IRS or when the freeboard marks are placed higher on the ship's sides than the position assigned or approved by IRS, the ship's class will be suspended.

17. When it is found that a ship is being operated in a manner contrary to that agreed at the time of classification, or is being operated in conditions or in areas more onerous than those agreed, the class will be suspended.
